I think that I finally get this. You have a disk for a printer. It has a broken drive door so you can't load the drivers onto your laptop,
Almost every printer has online drivers, They will have instructions for how to use them. Load the drivers from online rather than from the disk.
If you have more than one computer, you can share the disk from one computer to the other using file sharing and download the disk info that way.
Go to www.HP.com and click drivers and downloads.
Fill in your printer information, and your OS info, and it will take you to the download for the drivers.
Save it to your hard drive. and install it from there.
It is recommended that you burn it to CD for future use.
