The disk is corrupted and it interferes with the install process. Just get this
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ boot from it and format your entire disk to reiserfs then to FAT32 - this way any trace of the old NTFS file system is thoroughly wiped. Now launch the recovery process one more time and it will automatically detect the FAT32 partition and will reformat it to NTFS in the process.
I think that I finally get this. You have a disk for a printer. It has a broken drive door so you can't load the drivers onto your laptop,
Almost every printer has online drivers, They will have instructions for how to use them. Load the drivers from online rather than from the disk.
If you have more than one computer, you can share the disk from one computer to the other using file sharing and download the disk info that way.
