SOURCE: Replacing old fan with Hunter 20763.

People find all kinds of creative ways to wire things. White wires are always supposed to be neutrals and therefore should always go with other white wires, and colored wires should always be hot and should always go with other colored wires. If you have a voltage tester you could test to see if in fact the blue wire is actually the hot and the white is actually the neutral. (test each wire to a ground). If the previous fan was wired backwards, it would not affect the operation of the fan or lights at all. But you'd probably want to make sure the new fan was wired properly. In that case connect the white from the fan to the neutral and the black and black/white to the hot.

SOURCE: Hunter ceiling fan remote 85095-01 stopped working

it also could be one of the the jumpers fell out of the remote
they are located just above the battery. you will need to match the placement of the jumpers with the receiver mounted in the fan.

How to convert a Hunter ceiling fan remote to hard wire switches

You cannot do this because the remote has a connection for reversing the direction of the blades. Hunter does not post the schematic for their fans. There is a common, low, medium, high and possibly the light and the reverse direction. IF you do manage to connect it, you will lose a lot of functionality.

We purchased the Hunter Ceiling fan over a year ago and it has worked fine up until a couple of weeks ago. When we turn on the light it just continuously blinks on and off.

there is a watt governor, or black box for the lights to cut down on wattage or energy use. you can remove the black box for the lighting, and wire it directly to the main wires. white wire to white wire, and black wire to red wire. black and red are always a hot wire and white is a neutral wire. the part number on black box should be 98480-02. this should stop the lights from blinking. have a good day !

Bought a display hunter 20171 Ergonomics C Fan. The wires were cut short, remote control receiver not included.

have no choice but to buy the original receiver through hunter - not a replacement from HD or Lowes - it will not work.

The canopy doesn't seeem to fit flush up against

You just need to wrap it and tuck it .. You might need to cut some of the fan wires shorter so there is not so much bulk under the canopy cover. The fans are shipped with enough wire leads to be able to use a down rod, They can be cut shorter when the fan is being installed.
