Checked for spark, no spark to plug. Checked coil , cleaned up, regap to flywheel, still no spark. Removed ground to coil, no spark. Replaced coil, regaped, still no spark. What am I missing?

When you take off the carburetor initially, you should change the gasket if it tears or just old looking, your problem is in the carburetor, probably. Take it apart remembering where the parts go. There are some diaphragms or gaskets and screens on some, tiny jets and such that are inside the little "bulb" or bowl, that can usually be taken off with a 10mm wrench. They also have little fiber gaskets and a bowl gasket or o-ring that must be in great condition with no trash. Clean off with starter fluid or carburetor cleaner.

If the spring has only become dislodged, and not broken, you just need to find out where it goes. Take a digital picture of the carburetor from the top (you may have to remove the plastic shroud). Take another from the side, and from wherever else you can get an angle. Take the camera and small mirror with you to a place that sells mowers. B&S doesn't change their engines & carbs very often. You just need to find any mower with a 4 hp B&S, or even a 4.5 to 6.5 will probably be similar enough.

I would say if you can get a spark by moving the ground, try running the mower. If it works you should be OK.

You may have the magneto or the coil on upside down look for where says it says this side up. Very easy to have reinstalled upside down, if so you will not have spark.
