Seagate raw drive

Help! I have hard disk Seagate U6 Model ST340810A 40GB and some how i was open the cmd window and start scanning for erro on my hard disk using chkdsk /r /v /i /c and it ask me to unmount hard disk and i select "yes" and it scan my hard disk with all those option that i told you (chkdsk /r /v /i /c and after finish scan the hard disk and some how i don't know what happen to my Seagate hard disk I can't open my hard disk and I right click and choose properties to see the hard disk section and some how my Seagate hard disk became RAW (File System: RAW) do you think that i did something wrong with scanning my Seagate hard disk using chkdsk /r /v /i /c unmount selection? My Seagate hard disk plug in using usb adapter (usb to ide cable) How do i fix RAW drive to a normal drive without losing data? so i can open my hard disk again

OK! Have you tried this Seagate external hard disk on other computers? Is it also detected as RAW file system there? Does the PC Windows ask you to format this hard disk before any access there? If so, your external drive may not be seriously damaged or corrupted. Before you really format this drive as you are asked, merely scan this RAW drive with external hard disk RAW file system error recovery software.

Your data is already gone. The drive is raw. No partition no format.

SOURCE: how to make IDE slave hard drive?

You can make it slave with jumper settings check in back side of harddrive you can see jumper which is connected to 2 pin of harddrive.
Read instruction on harddrive you can read how to set jumper for make it slave.
Then you ca use it as slave.

This drive is an IDE drive. The jumpers can be set on it to make it a slave.

Once set as a slave, you can identify the drive letter given to this drive and format it either at a command prompt: C:> format [drive:] /s (to make it bootable) or no /s to just format it.- OR within Windows: right click on the drive letter and select format.

SOURCE: 500gb Seagate external. Shows in Device Manager, but 0 data, 0 space available: had three partitions, lots of data. Now shows status RAW. Is there anyway to access, or am I stuck with a recovery servi

Do a google on "seagate LBA 0" there are some diy options.

Where can i download the driver for my harddrive

Your operating system should be providing the driver ...

You can check at www.seagate.colm/support ... but I think you will find windows can drive it just fine ...
