IC module part for Hitachi 50EX12BA?

Hi, we are in the Army stationed overseas. Getting tech support is tough. We are wondering what part and where to order, the IC module for a Hitachi 50EX12BA. We are having similar convergence problems as described in the site where the Red and or Blue bow inwards from the bottom. Can you tell us how to order the part and where to get basic instructions on how to replace it. We are pretty savy and have our own technitians that work with military electronics. Thanks Joe

Here is a link to over 43 pages of parts for the Hitachi 50EX12BA. Luckily for you they sell ICs and if you click on the IC link, it will show you the particular IC number. http://tigerdirect.partsearch.com/GetModel.aspx?MfgName=Hitachi+Ltd&BrandName=Hitachi&ModelNumber=50EX12BA&page=1&SortBy=description&sortdirection=asc I'd take SiverDragon up on the offer. Do you have international texting on your phone plan? Also, your husband would have to have international roaming on his phone plan.

My 50" sanyo flat screen

there is a IC that control the color which is called the Chroma IC.when this Ic goes bad it has to be replaced.but since you have a flat screen those kind of tv carry a module for every section in the tv so the whole colour module on your tv has to be replaced.if you are not a tech then my advise is to take it to a tech, for repairs.good luck.

Replacing STK Modules in a Panasonic Rear Projection HDTV

Hi there.

If you look up the datasheets for the 392 series, you'd find more differences than power and voltage ratings... Using a similar IC (even if it is the same series) may make it difficult, if not impossible, to converge. It's recommended to change the 2 ICs as a matched pair. Since one already is failing or failed, the other probably isn't too far away.

The resistors mentioned are to bias each output stage for proper deflection and must be within tolerance. They're precision blue flameproofs, so if anything really heated up from a bad IC you'd easily catch any browning / burning. Red is IC7001, blue IC7002, and green is split between the two ICs.

Tha advantage getting a factory supplied or authorized distributor part is you know the LOT NUMBER has been approved by the manufacturer. Generics or unusually cheap originals are often rejects from the manufacturer as being out of tolerance.

The originals are only $29 each directly from Panasonic. Why go through all the effort tearing the thing apart twice to save $30?

Good luck, Mark

Part number for IC module Hitachi 50EX12BA?

The Hitache 50EX12BA uses 2 IC's labeled STK392-110. If you are looking in the back of the set, the convergence IC's are mounted on the large heat sink on the right side. If one of the IC's has burned out, go ahead and replace both IC's with the newer improved STK392-150 IC's. These IC's are very common and can be ordered from almost any electronics parts supplier. When installing the new IC's you will need to clean off the old heat sink compound and apply fresh compound to the back of both IC's.

Picture issues, not sure what the problem is, photos posted

It looks to me like the green is sagging down at the top, and this means that one of your convergence IC's has stopped working. Instead of replacing the whole module, locate the convergence IC (Samsung typically uses the STK392-040 IC's) that handles Green Vertical (GV) and replace it. Sometimes there is a fuse next to the IC that looks like a small resistor that opens up too. If you do not have experience changing convergence than have a qualified tech handle it for you.
