If the door seal is faulty it will allow warm humid air to enter freezer and cause the icing up of the air ways, simple test, place a high powered torch in freezer, close dor and see if you can see any light around the seal edges where it contacts the frame, if not it is ok, if there is then replace the seal asap.

RF265AARSXAC The freezer is not freezing.

looks as evaporator fan is working. have you ever clean condensor under the fridge. possibility it is pluged with dust and not allowing compressor to cool down.
Also check the fan at the back of the fridge beside the compressor. see if it is working

Fridge wasn't cooling but freezer was working, now both aren't

Hi,Your husband did good job, after cleaning and vacuuming, did freezer (bottom) have excessive ice?, if there's excessive ice in bottom, after cleaning, you have a defrost problem, but if there're no ice in freezer after cleaning, you got freon (gas leak) , there's a condensate loop, that passes through ref. body, from compressor that naturally develop, freon leak after few years, by rusting, normally it can be by- pass. vacuum and refill with freon, if there's no freezing, but compressor running, you'll need a mechanic, you got a freon leak. good luck.

The fridge is cold but the freezer won't freeze

It has seperate cooling circuits as you describe the problem can be a leak of refrigerant in the freezer circuit.if there is no heating up in the freezer condensing coil.It has to be check for the leakage.

My fridge won't cool down or freeze

Your condenser is likely dirty clean it. the compressor could be tripped out on over load (to hot) unplug the fridge a couple hours should do it . plug it back in make sure the thermostat is on and set correctly if that does not work you will need service. Tom
