HI, I'm an Army soldier stationed in PR; having convergence problems. Does anyone know what the IC module part number is and where I can get it? My problem is similar to other posts; Curved line on the bottom bowing towards center.

Re: Part number for IC module Hitachi 50EX12BA?
The Hitache 50EX12BA uses 2 IC's labeled STK392-110. If you are looking in the back of the set, the convergence IC's are mounted on the large heat sink on the right side. If one of the IC's has burned out, go ahead and replace both IC's with the newer improved STK392-150 IC's. These IC's are very common and can be ordered from almost any electronics parts supplier. When installing the new IC's you will need to clean off the old heat sink compound and apply fresh compound to the back of both IC's.

Firstly ... be very careful when you read something like this online. If some didn't jump to the wrong conclusions, they wouldn't get any exercise at all. Read the link below carefully ... it seems to be a misunderstanding and even the original Facebook poster (the wife of the soldier in question) called the police to apologize and indicate that she didn't get the facts straight. As for the gas station in question ... the incident stemmed from the fact that the station was out of the particular kind of gas the soldier wanted ... please do not allow prejudice & bigotry (and i don't know you so i apologize if this is not what this is) to escalate a simple misunderstanding into something beyond anyone's control.
Thats an obselete IC. Your model came with two chassis designs the CTC195 and the PTK195 could you verify which chassis your model has and I will try to cross refernce it to a substitute part number for you. Please respond to this same post when replying.
You will need two STK392-120 Convergence ICs and about 4 6.8 ohm 1watt resistors. You can get replacement ICs and resistors at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions with pictures so you can do the job yourself. Here is the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
The convergence IC's and fuses are not your problem. If the Sony projection set has a bad convergence IC and/or a blown fuse or fuses in the convergence circuit, the set will continue playing but the colors will not line up correctly. If the set will not turn on at all, and has no lights at all on the front of the set, the problem is in your main power supply. If the set tries turning on and then flashes the timer LED on the front of the set, count the number of times the LED flashes, as that is the code for why the set is notworking. I have found that the most common cause of the set not starting is a shorted flyback transformer.
Hi.. look I am willing to obtain & send ya the "bit" free of charge if ya can find out what the "Bit" is ...lol
I found a link below that indicates a free service manual to help with identifying the "Bit".
I "Googled" Hitachi 50EX12BA and got a lot of "Hits"...
see if ya can get the part number and your return address and send it to my email [email protected], if i can obtain it I will send it on ASAP..
Anything for support.. alla best from New Zealand..
The colors weren't lining up correctly on my HC-P4752W which is only about 30 months old. I did a little bit of research and got ahold of the people at http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/ They recommended replacing the IC's as well as the IC resistors. I purchased the replacement parts from their site and made the repairs myself. I should mention that I didn't have any previous soldering experience. The repair was easy and a complete success. You may find replacement parts elsewhere for slightly cheaper but what you won't find is the prompt and detailed customer service that they provide. They gave me there # and said to call if I had any questions before or during repair. I took advantage of their services and got answers every time I called.
It looks to me like the green is sagging down at the top, and this means that one of your convergence IC's has stopped working. Instead of replacing the whole module, locate the convergence IC (Samsung typically uses the STK392-040 IC's) that handles Green Vertical (GV) and replace it. Sometimes there is a fuse next to the IC that looks like a small resistor that opens up too. If you do not have experience changing convergence than have a qualified tech handle it for you.
