Your mechanic is right and the error code means SMALL EVAP leak. This is usually the gas cap. Make sure it is tight, it might need replaced. It might take a while to go out too.

SOURCE: 1996 Chevy S10 4x4 - Dash lights need replacing

not easy, you have to remove bottom plastic from underneath the dash, there should be two or three you don't have to go to the passenger side, then the front contour snaps off bring your shifter arm al the way down to 1st gear and the steering colomn as well on that plastic contour you have the 4x4 switch to unplug, rear wiper switch, light switch, and rear hatch switch, wiggle the plastic out, now you should see the instrument cluster there should be two to 4 screws holding that in should be 7 mm screws, now careful, if you have the analog cluster you have the speedmeter cable in back to unclip, if digital odometer it's plugged in directly into the dash and there could be an additional plug on top of the cluster, if the cluster came out unclip the backing and you should see the back of the bulbs but careful some are twist off and many others are soudered on that board you aoto parts counter should have these lights in stock no sweat.... good luck

Did you get gas shortly before the light came on? It's not uncommon for a loose gas cap to set this code. Take the cap off and look at the seal. If it's cracked replace it with a new OEM cap. If not, reinstall it and make sure it's on all the way. Then you can clear the code and see if it comes back.

96 chevy s10 4300 vortec oil overfilled to 8 qts now evap light on

You need to drain oil out the drain plug till it's at the proper level. Engine damage could result from being overfull-the crankshaft will be churning the oil in the crankcase around-if it starts foaming, you will lose oil pressure. Engine could seize from lack of oil pressure.

I think I may have overfilled the engine oil in my 2005 Ford Ranger. I left for a trip and the stick was hard to see in the dark. Now I have oil leaking in the Drivers side floorboard. I don't know if...

You should remove the excess immediately. This can be done in two ways 1. Remove the drain plug on the pan under the motor. If you do not want to drain all of the oil, attach a vacuum hose from a vacuum cleaner at the oil fill on the valve cover. This creates a vacuum on th engine and prevents all the oil from draining at once. Otherwise 2. Drain all the oil and the refill to recommended level. Over fill of the oil creates air bubbles that prevent proper lubrication of the engine.

What type of oil and how much do I use with the honeywell 1000w generator?

Engine Oil Recommendations

Use 4-stroke oil, or equivalent high detergent, premium

quality motor oil certified to meet or exceed U.S. automobile

manufacturer's requirements for API Performance

Class SF or better. SAE 15W-40 is recommended for general,
all-temperature use.

NOTICE

Engine oil is a major factor affecting engine performance

and service life. Non-detergent and 2-stroke engine oils will

damage engine and are not recommended.

• Be sure to use engine oils specified under "Engine Oil

Recommendations."

It is very important to maintain proper level of engine oil to

keep engine in good running condition.

• Check engine oil level prior to each use. Refill engine

oil if oil level is low.

FIGURE 17: Recommended Oil Viscosity

Crankcase pressure can cause hot engine oil to

spray out of engine fill hole. Hot engine oil can

cause severe burns.

• ALWAYS stop engine before removing the oil fill cap.

I have a air compressor (craftsman) it will run constantly and never put air in the tank. it is about 35 degrees outside. when it is warm it works. the water has been drained

First try some light weight oil in the cylinders and see if that will make it pump air. If it does then drain the oil from the compressor crankcase and replace 1/2 of it with the required oil. then fill to proper level with Marvel Mystery oil. Run compressor for 30 or 45 minutes. Then drain the oil and refill with the recommended oil for your compressor. If this fails to correct your problem then it could be that the rings need replacing on the piston. If the marvel mystery oil didn't solve it then you need to replace the reeds at the base of the head between head and cylinder assembly. [email protected] Mike

Transfer case maintentance

I assume you are looking for how often maintenance is required. Every 30,000 miles or 24 monthss requires a drain and refill.

Specs: RECOMMENDED LUBRICANT AND FILL LEVEL Recommended lubricant for the NV231 transfer case is Mopart DexronII, or ATFPlus3, type7176. Approximate lubricant fill capacity is 1.2liters (2.5pints).The fill and drain plugs are both in the rear case.Correct fill level is to the bottom edge of the fill plug hole. Be sure the vehicle is level to ensure an accurate fluid level check.
