Keeps resetting back to EST

Our laCross kitchen wall clock keeps resetting itself from both EST time to DST. Without any prodding from myself. On the effective date of DST, the clock prefectly reset. It lasted for about a week; Now, on a daily basis, usually somewhere between 5 and 7PM, it resets itself to EST. Yet, when I awake in the morning, it will once again reset itself to the correct DST.
I also have a wall Den clock that does practically the same thing. I move that clock to a window in another room. It automatically resets to DST. Then when i return it to its proper location, between 5 and 7PM, it reset to EST. It will stay that way until I move it to that window.

Perplexed!!! thanks for the help

I have a mantle clock version and to set the clock to recognize the radio signal, I need to hold down both the ET and PT time zone buttons for a few seconds. The clock hands will then continue to move until they reset themselves to the correct time.

SOURCE: LACROSSE WT-3161 wall clock. Can't set to Pacific Daylight Savings. Keeps Resetting back to PST

It may be a manufacturing defect. I'm an electronics tech in S. Florida and all the LaCrosse clocks (WT-3126) in our new building read an hour earlier than is correct. Complaints to the factory resulted in new clocks being sent to replace the originals...sounds like a manufacturing problem to me because the new ones (WT-3122) work fine.

SOURCE: Resetting to daylight savings time.

The clock is searching for a strong enough radio signal from NIST station WWVB. When it can't lock on it, it gives up, moves the dial four hours, and goes to sleep to wait for better reception. Put the clock in a window facing towards Boulder, CO, overnight. (Radio propagation is better after dark.)

The manual for one of their clocks says the clock will change the second hand to two-second intervals to conserve energy when the battery voltage gets low. Perhaps your battery is VERY low.

Clock face does not show DST. When clock is set to correct time, it turns back one hour at midnight.

DST start and stop was changed a few years back. If you clock has embedded code with the old start and stop, the only way to fix it is to turn off automatic DST. Not sure what clock you are using however it appears to picking up the current GMT time. Another cause is if you have a time zone setting, CST, EST, PST etc.

How do I change from military to 12 hour format on the time display of the Sharp Atomic Weather Station SPC1003

Resetting: 1. Remove batteries from both the outdoor transmitter and the Temperature station. 2. Wait at least 30 seconds and then repeat the procedures specified in Setting up (above). Note: Always wait at least 30 seconds after removing the batteries before reinserting, otherwise start up and transmission problems may occur. Also, remember when insertting, that both units have to reset and to always reinsert the batteries to the transmitter first

Instructions
    • 1 Insert the batteries into the clock and verify that the clock's display is functioning.
    • 2 Set the correct time-zone and Daylight Saving Time (DST) switches. The switches are on the back of the clock. Select EST if you are in Eastern Standard Time, CST if you are in Central Standard Time, MST if you are in Mountain Standard Time, or PST if you are in Pacific Standard Time. The DST selector should be set to "off" or "on" depending on the laws of your state.
    • 3 Wait 15 minutes. The clock should synchronize automatically.
    • 4 Set the clock manually using the buttons on the back panel if the clock does not catch the radio signal within the first 15 minutes. Push the correct button to advance the month/day/year on the calendar; use the MODE button to set the hour and minute.
    • 5 The clock should adjust itself within 48 hours to match the atomic signal. Verify that the clock is receiving the signal by checking the front display. You should see the image of a tower with circular lines at its top.

Since DST started I cannot get my radio controlled clock to reset to the actual time. I replaced the battery and now the clock will set itself four hours from the time it stopped, then stop again. i have...

take the batteries back out and leave them out for at least 2 minutes. next put the batteries back in and put the clock near a wall or window so that the back of the clock faces colorado (where the WMV transmitter is),. It will most likely take all night for it to set properly, just after you put in the battery make sure that you have set your time zone on the back of the clock and if there is DST button press that too. just be patient, it will set itself. worse comes to worse you can set it by hand, but kind of defeats the purpose of having an "atomic clock". by the way the reason they call it "atomic" is becausee WMV's clock is tracking the decay of the Seisum atom, or some such bs.

take the batteries out and leave them out for at least a minute. when you put the (new) battereis back in be sure that you have the correct time zone pushed and if there is a DST button or switch make sure that is pushed/set as well. place the clock with its back facing colorado and leave it overnight, it should reset itself ok.

My sincere apologies for your geographic location at this time of year.

You should contact the Nexxtech customer service department to resolve this issue. They are the experts with their merchandise and should be able to determine if you have a faulty unit - which is possible.
