Choosing the single cell below rows you want to repeat on each page and to the right of the column you want to repeat and then freezing that cell will cause those rows and that column to repeat on each page as you print. works fine on preview. However I still can't get the machine to print.

Printer has worked perfectly since purchased, suddenly started printing only the black portions of a photo. Did a nozzle check which confirmed only black cartridge functioning. Deep cleaned all heads....

The print head is still probably still partially blocked. Cleaning/deep cleaning tries to clear the head by flushing ink through, doesn't always work but does use up your ink.

You can get print head cleaning kits, PC shops, ebay etc. Try one of those.

Here's a really useful ebay url. with some youtube links, if you run the second video down you should get a pretty good idea.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Printer-Print-Head-Printhead-Cleaning-kit-Epson-Canon-/130479422758?pt=UK_Computing_Printer_Paper_Accessories_ET&hash=item1e612dfd26

Here's a direct link :- http://www.printheadhospital.co.uk/quickshop/

You don't have to buy this one, there may be cheaper, have a shop around.

My printer won't print. It says wrong cartridge, but it is the same cartridge that has been in there and printed yesterday. The cartridge is full. What is wrong?

Hi,

Follow these steps:-

  • On the operator panel, press and hold the <ON/OFF> button for one second. (The display will go blank.)

Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord if pressing the ON/OFF button does not shut off the printer.

  • Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the <ON/OFF> button again.

  • Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.
Reseat the Print head

Note: If you have difficulty on Column A when choosing between two patterns, use the larger value number.

  • Repeat step 7 for columns B to F. If you have difficuly choosing between patterns for Columns D, E or F, use the smaller value number.
  • When values for all vertical columns on the printout have been entered, the LCD will display [LAT LINE PATTERN] and a lateral (horizontal) pattern will print.
  • Review the lateral pattern printout, noting which solid box in Column G on the printout has the most solid image.
a6f7324.gif

The 3eBK head stopped printing.

Try below some steps which might help you resolve the problem.

Print Head Cleaning / Head Refreshing If the printed Nozzle Check Pattern is broken, missing, or a specific color is not printed, clean the print head.
  1. Press the <Menu> button on the printers operation panel repeatedly until [MAINTENANCE] appears in the LCD.
  2. Press the left [<] or right [>] arrow buttons to select the cleaning setting you want. Select [HEAD CLEANING] or [HEAD REFRESHING] for deep print head cleaning.

Note: [HEAD REFRESHING] uses more ink than [HEAD CLEANING], so perform [HEAD REFRESHING] only when necessary.
  3. Press the <OK> button.
  4. Print a Nozzle Check Pattern and perform at least two Head Refreshings if the pattern is not correct.
If this does not help, try removing the print head and then install it again. Once place, dont forget to aligh the head. Following are the steps:

    2. Press <Menu> repeatedly to select [MAINTENACE].
    3. Press the left or right cursor to select [AUTO HEAD ALIGN], then press the <OK>. (A pattern is printed and the print head is automatically aligned. It takes about five minutes to finish printing the pattern.)

Manual print head alignment
  1. Press <ON/OFF> to turn on the machine.

Please see the Canon link below, and as Canon links return generic pages, type in "missing black print" (without quotes) or something of that nature. The results will include Reseat/remove printhead, among others. I have reproduced that content for you below, but I would also add that a number of folks have issues with black print cartridges, and it seems this is an issue that is fairly widespread, as one of the results is that your printer may need repair. If you have tried more than one cartridge with the same result, suggest consulting support if you don't think your usage justifies a new print head - especially if you are still under warranty. Dell 810 not printing

Dear chibihamster, It seems that there is some loose connection in your printer. If you have a little knowledge in hardware, please open your printer carefully, check all the connected cable specially the printer head connector. The best way is that disconnect the printer head cable and reconnect it again. Do not do anything in your scanner circuit area, otherwise it will create you more problems. If this doesn't solve your problem, please contact the manufacturer. GOOD LUCK!!
