What is the exact model for your laptop? If you go to HP website using the laptop, you can have them "autodetect" what drivers you are actually supposed to be using. Find the display driver associated with your specific laptop and use that. Look for the link to "Software and Downloads" and click on it. There will be a black button in the middle for "Autodetect". Download that latest driver.

Hi

It seems that you need to use the latest driver for the graphic card.

You can do that through visiting the manufacture's website, choose your laptop model, OS, look for video (vga) driver, and download it.

(I am using AVG, Norman Malware cleaner, Virus effect remover, PCMAV) ... Now, 1 of my notebook now can use back NVidia driver again .... the other is still scanning/cleanning, still using Microsoft VGA Standard driver and still working well ...

HP Pavilion ZD8000 vertical lines issue

Hi,
In answer to your question. It may be a screen problem. as the screen has a Matrix of vertical and horizontal line configuration.
I,d suggest trying the laptop/computer on an external monitor or screen. if it works fine on an external. then it could be assumed that the TFT Panel or invertor has a fault.
if the picture/display still has vertical lines on an external monitor, then the fault may lie, with the Mainboard.

Process of elimination, before spending any Money :)
