Whirlpool Quiet Wash II

I have a Whirlpool Quiet Wash II dishwasher. The Pots&Pans and Normal light is flashing. I am unable to get the dishwasher to start. I have tried to reset it by turning off the power at the breaker without results. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

There is no connection problems. I have been told the dishwasher needs to be reset. Any suggestions on how to reset it?

Try this solution first
Push the Hi-temp and then push the Sani-rinse. Go back and forth multiple times on these two buttons. I found that after a handfull of pushes that a "1" came up on the display. I continued to keep rotating the two buttons and then a "2" came up on the display and the dishwater started it's "drain" phase. I then hit cancel to clear and then I selected the cycle I wanted. The washer started up just as normal at this point.

call sears, 1-800-4MY-HOME. They have a trouble-shooting department that will get rid of this problem. It is caused by water temperature being wrong at the start of the cycle.... blah, blah, blah. The representative will tell you to push a certain set of buttons in a certain order and that unlocks the dishwasher.

Sorry I don't know the sequence

This can be a common issue with some Whirlpool manufactured dishwashers. This information may help in your situation. The following link explains how you may be able to clear the blinking clean light problem:

Now, keep in mind all dish washers are not alike and have different panel options. If you do not have the same set up that I have mentioned, the tech sheet for your dishwasher will explain the touch pad functions. The tech sheet is located behind the lower toe panel under the door and lists the proper sequence of buttons to push for diagnostics and troubleshooting.

NOTE: Sometimes the tech sheet is located behind the inner door panel. You will need to remove the screws securing the inner panel to access it if this is the case. Make sure you turn off the main power breaker before doing so.

Sometimes this can be a momentary glitch in operation. However, if the problem keeps reoccuring the number of flashes is an indication of which circuit is causing your problem. Again, refer to your tech sheet to determine this.

My whirlpool quiet partner II imperial series Dishwasher will only work on light wash mode. Normal wash, heavy wash or pots and pans cycle will not work at all.

This is ordinarily a problem with the touchpad. Can you give me the specific model number of yours (ordinarily on a sticker on the inside edge of the door or on the door opening)?

Gold Quiet Partner lll. Why are lights flashing on normal, pots and pans, and cancel?

I had this happen and I was unable to cancel, so I believe I resolved it by flipping the breaker off, then back on, and it's been working fine for a several years since then. Your electric panel should have a separate switch/fuse for the dishwasher. Some have a plug under the sink, but most are "hardwired". Cheers.

Quiet Partner IV. Why is the pots and pans light blinking and it won't run?

Its normal for the drain pump to run for 5 to 15 seconds and then your washer should fill and you wash pump should run if your was pump is not running and just makes a humming sound then your start capacitor may need changing see the link below this is a simple task and not expensive. When ordering a new capacitor make sure it is the same size in ?F.

I dont know if this indicates a malfunction or not. One user manual may cover several years while many modifications can take place. Ask yourself if any other part of the process can contribute to this. You have electricity to the control board or it will not flash these display indicators.
Is the water on?
Is the waterline kinked under or behind the machine?
Is it connected to hot water? A heater raises the hot water quickly but cold water takes alot longer to reach operating temp. Since the hottest program id pots and pans, this may indicate the heater is bad but since you were able to change the display to pp and normal I think you entered into a controls sequence that technicians can do to make changes to some parameters like temperature setting or water hardness. See if you can get a whirlpool tech to break the grip on his service manual and send you a page by email. Good luck.

Rinse cycle, normal cycle do not light up (work) when keypad is pushed on whirlpool gold quiet wash plus. Same for pots and pans cycle. Time delay, china and heavy settings do work.

The red light tell you there is a fault. You have to read the fault code and it will give you a general idea of the problem - to do this you have to enter the service mode of operation - close the door and turn the dishwasher on.
The Start/Stop light must be blinking. If the Start/Stop light is not blinking, press and hold
the Start/Stop button for at least 3 seconds to exit the cycle. The Start/Stop light should now be blinking.

Press and hold the Start/Stop button while turning the dishwasher on. Release the
Start/Stop button and immediately press it 2 more times. Flashing Intake/Drain and
Salt lamps and a lit Rinse lamp indicates successful accessing of services mode
