Help -- frustrating problem. When the phone receives calls it does not make a ringing noise, regardless of the tone/volume/profile settings etc. This is a recent event, has worked well until recently. Still makes sound for sms messages received.
There is an icon on the front "ringtone only if the caller is stored in the phonebook". I don't seem to be able to turn this off, and there is no reference to it in the manual. Not sure if this is related to the problem.
I have been through the paper manual and the latest online manual but cannot find any reference to this problem,

Re: No sound for incoming calls on SK65
Go to Settings -> Ringtones ->Ringer Setting and you'll find an actual On/Off option, this option literally terns all ring-tones on and off, the fact that you are seeing the "ringtone only if the caller is stored in the phonebook" icon suggests that you (or someone playing with your phone) have accidentally turned the ringer off.
As to the question of deleting duplicated address book entries, if you have copied your SIM in to the Phone's phonebook you can simply delete the one phonebook using the delete phonebook option (backup using SmartSync first). However if you have copied all entries in to the same book you will need to pick through them manually.

Some how your phone was reset or had the tone turned off. Just follow the below guide and your audio should come back on. I would do a soft reset (turn off the handset, remove the battery then reinsert) before performing the instructions.
Tone settings To select a ringing tone for voice calls, select Tones > Ringing tone. To select a ringing tone for video calls, select Tones > Video call tone. To set the ringing type, select Tones > Ringing type. You can also set the device to sound a ringing tone that is a combination of the spoken name of the caller and the selected ringing tone, when someone from your contacts list calls you. Select Tones > Say caller's name. To set the volume level of the ringing tone, select Tones > Ringing volume. To set the various alert tones, select Tones > Message alert tone, E-mail alert tone, Calendar alarm tone, or Clock alarm tone. To set the device to vibrate when you receive a call, select Tones > Vibrating alert. To set the volume level of the device keypad tones, select Tones > Keypad tones.
I have included a link to download your user manual if needed, it comes as a PDF file so you need to have adobe PDF down loader
Settings In this menu, you can adjust various phone settings. To reset some menu settings to their default values, select Restore factory set. Tone settings Select Menu > Settings > Tone settings and from the available options: Ringing tone-To set the tone for incoming calls Ringing volume-To set the volume level for the ringing and message alert tones. Vibrating alert-To set the phone to vibrate when you receive a call or a text message Message alert tone-To set the tone to sound when you receive a text message Warning tones-To set the phone to sound tones, for example, when the battery is running out of power
Does the phone ring when you receive an incoming call? If so, press Menu go to Control Panel (or might be the profile is shown in the menu) after control panel, Profile then Options and then Personalize, then, scroll down and again select Message Alert Tone, set the Tone for the message. Also make sure that the volume is turned up. Save the settings and try again. If this doesn't help and you don't hear any ring tone during an incoming call, let me know after checking the sound settings.
Try the following instructions, to personalize your Nokia E50! Profiles Warning: In the offline profile you cannot make or receive any calls, or use other features that require network coverage. Calls still may be possible to the official emergency number programmed into your device. To make calls, you must first activate the phone function by changing profiles. If the device has been locked, enter the lock code.
Select Menu > Tools > Profiles. You can adjust and customize the ringing tones, alert tones, and other device tones for different events, environments, or caller groups. To customize a profile, scroll to the desired profile in the list, and select Options > Personalise. Define the following settings: • Ringing tone — Select a ringing tone from the list, or select Tone downloads to open a bookmark folder containing a list of bookmarks for downloading tones using the browser. To listen to the selected tone, select Play. If you have two alternate phone lines in use, you can specify a ringing tone for each line. • Say caller's name — Activate the text-to-speech ringing tone feature. When someone from your contacts list calls you, the device sounds a ringing tone that is a combination of the spoken name of the contact and the selected ringing tone. • Ringing type — Select how you want the ringing tone to alert. • Ringing volume — Select the volume level of the ringing tone. • Message alert tone — Select a tone for received text messages. You can check what profile is selected by pressing the red button once while the phone is in standby mode. Then try to change the profile to General or Loud. If that is OK then try this: go to Menu/Settings/Tone settings/Ringing volume and set it to the maximum value.
If that doesn't help please let me know and I'll try to find some other solution.
ave you set it from inside the profiles for incoming calls. have you turned up the volume from the side of them phone when making or recieveing calls. set your pofile with all the loud tones and then it should work again.
