You can try sorting the problem yourself before you decide to send it in to Nintendo.
Most DS touch screens stop working if there is dust, hair, sand etc gets under the frame of the DS. They stop working because the particles get pushed down on the touch scream making the DS think that screens already been touched and won't respond.
Get a toothbrush with straight bristles and with your thumb gently press down the touch screen along the frame, use the touch brush to clean under the frame but be vary careful not to press down too much as you could cause damage to DS.
If the screen still doesn't work then you'll have to send it in for repair.
Here is a video on how to. 1.) Go to the main menu.
2.) Touch the DS icon at the bottom of the screen.
3.) Select the pink icon, then a menu will appear. Touch the
3-D sphere to show the languages.
4.) Select "English", press the A Button, and your done!
if its one of the micro sd card action replay you can try to format it.make sure you get all of the data off for this take it back to the first time you got it from the store.
Just like yours, my DS's touch screen kicked the bucket last october. I went and traded my broken DS in at gamestop and got another one bc nintendo wouldn't replace it for me. I would recommend the same to you =).
You can change the system language with the following procedure:
1.) Go to the main menu.
2.) Touch the DS icon at the bottom of the screen.
3.) Select the pink icon, then a menu will appear. Touch the
3-D sphere to show the languages.
4.) Select "English", press the A Button, and your done!
i had the same problem and have now fixed it succesfully the touch screen works like a grid and is overlayed onto an lcd screen so that when you touch the screen it makes a conection within the grid so that the machine knows where you are touching .....if one of these grids are broken you will never calibrate your screen as the ds doesnt recognise what you are touching .....in short the answer is to replace your touch screen
