The fan is noisy and rattles. Is there any way to disconnect or shut off this fan? It runs for hours after the oven is shut off and the noise and rattle is getting worse.

NO NEVER EVER DISCONNECT FANS OR ANYTHING ELSE ON YOUR COOKER.
Your cooker may have at least two fans, one for heating the oven cavity and one for cooling the electrics etc inside the oven. If the fan is noisy, check to see the fan has not come loose on the motor (maybe left had thread) if the fan is ok, then the fan motor may need replacing!
could be the fan,i've seen dust get in there and there's a screen that the fan blows air through to cool down the electronics,so if the fan is bad it's not cooling down your board and that's why the light flicker, how old is the unit, sounds like the board is damaged from over heating most likely from the fan and i looked up the model number and you can't get that board anymore,if the board is bad you could get it rebuilt,i just helped someone else with the same problem the board is discontinued, you have to have the board taken out, draw up a wire diagram and send the board out to have it rebuilt, when they send it back you reinstall it,and wire it. https://www.appliancetimers.com/appliance?model=gbd307pdt7
maybe if the fan motor gets changed out the board won't over heat anymore and won't give you a problem but it doesn't sound good.i think the board will also be an issue
Hi - if you still have your user manual I think you will find that oven have a time delay designed into the electronics for cool down purposes after the cycles completed. If it does shutdown after say 1.5hrs, it may seem a bit long but its actually doing what its designed to do, it should not be heating but circulating the hot air thru the oven.
We use to have a similar problem with our F & P BI600 wall oven - what we've done is have the door slightly ajar to quicken the cool down process until one day the fan ran continously - then I had it disconnected.
I hope this may help with your situation, if its running continously then its best to disconnect the cool down fan, the bake fan is normally on a separate circuit and not affected.
the fan will run untill the oven cools. if it dont shut off you need to shut down power for ten mineuts the reset if still runs you shuold call for service
From what you describe is happening, I would say that it is the fan that is causing the noise, not neccesserily the oven fan, because there is an external cooling fan as well, and these are the only moving parts that could cause a noise.
Hope this helps.
It is most likeky that the fan bearing is worn and thus causing the rattling sound. You will probably need to replace the fan. Check first that there is no obstacle in the way of the fan rotating.
Replacement of the fan will require the back of the oven to be removed giving access to the fan unit, which will need to have the wires disconnected and the fan assembly unbolted. Fitting is the reverse.
Always remember to switch off the power before working on electrical equipment.
If it is a fan assisted oven, then you are likely to have 2 fans, an external cooling fan, and a fan inside the oven for ciculating the hot air.
So to answer your query, yes it is a noisy fan you are going to have to establish which fan.
It could be a worn bearing, or the fan blade has come loose.
If it is a worn bearing, thge only cure is a new fan.
Hope this helps with your problem.
Yes, it can be fixed quite simply.
First check that the fan is not catching the cover or grill, if it is not remove panel covering fan and see if the fan blade is loose,on the shaft, they are usually held on by a left handed nut., so to tighten go the oppisite way to what you normally do, if that does not cure it, then your only solution is to replace the fan motor complete.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks, and a merry xmas.
