Question about Dometic RGE400 Top Freezer Refrigerator

1 Answer

New Travel trailer......no fridge!

I just bought an '08 Cherokee "wolf pack" toy hauler 27' pull behind in IOWA (I live in TN).....and the Dometic fridge does nothing. Am I missing something? I've tried pushing the ON and Auto (gas/elect) buttons in various ways and the ON light is on but not any cooling (or heating)....basically no response. The cooling control in the fridge box seems like a cheap clip-on sliding control where you simply slide the thing up to cooler and down for warmer. One thing...I am parked along my garage and the trailer is tilting sideways quite a bit. Any suggestion are appreciated. Thanks in advance......tommybear

Unit should still be covered on warranty call dometic directly. The tilting could affect some. If you push the auto button in it should run on electric first if no electric present it then goes to gas. Exception to the rule is if the heating element is not working it does not recognize this so it will stay on electric. Unplug the 110v in the compartment on the outside it should change to gas with in a few seconds. If it does heating element is bad.

Dometic refrigerator RM 2652 is not working

The fridge needs a 12 volt DC source to operate properly, which should be connected at the back of the fridge, outside behind cover. Check all fuses in your fuse panel as well. The upper controls are powered by 12 volt DC system, and that's what tells the fridge what to do.. (battery or converter)
