Re: momentary green light
If it reads and plays all the media types ok, you do not have a problem. If it does not read some of the media types, and not others, the Laser needs Cleaning and adjusting. Also, if your not comfortable cleaning the lens, See www.playsationclinic.com

Make sure its an original Osram or Philips bulb inside the housing. If its a cheap lamp it will act this way. If it is an original lamp, then you may have a power supply issue. It shouldn't affect your TV but you may want to try resetting the lamp timer by following the instructions that came with the lamp.
TY-LA1001 Timer reset
While pressing the VOL- button on the projection display, hold down the number 0 button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds.
The lamp for this model number is XL-5100
Before ordering the lamp, I would inspect the inside of the TV, be certain that the three fans are clean and free from dust. Often if a fan does not start the first time it may start on a restart. Due to the nature of televisions operating, dust seems drawn to these TV's. Cleaning the fans might correct your issue.
Look at the manual page 34, for the indicator messages. I suspect it's the same problem I have (which I haven't had formally diagnosed yet!), which I believe is a defective fan. My projector had been making a really loud noise on startup, which varied in length and volume. Recently the projector has taken to turning itself off after being on for about a minute, and the power light flashes green, with the temp and lamp lights flashing red.

Replace the lamp-mine just went out also and sony told that I just need to replace the lamp---after a while the lamp indicator light will turn on red if and blink if this is your problem....also note to make sure it is your lamp unplug your tv from the wall or surge protector for atleast a minute or 2 and then replug it back in and see if the lamp light blinks red? If it doesn't then you got something else wrong. I hope this helps...if you need further assistance contact sony online via chat at sony.com and they'll help you fix the problem in no time. Take care
