Question about Mitsubishi WS-55809 55" Rear Projection Television
How do i access the service menu on my mitsubishi HD 1080 OPTION MENU "MENU 0170" SERVICE MENU
How far off are the colors misaligned such that you need to enter the service mode to fox them? If one or more of your colors has taken a dramatic shift in position, especially on any edge, then do not attempt to correct through the menu. If one of your convergence IC's has failed then the colors will not align on the screen. If you try to correct this in the menu, you will only be screwing up all the settings and making the set worse. When the IC is replaced with a new one your colors will still be way off, not because the new IC is not working, but because now the menu settings are too far off. I have been to many houses and spent 45 minutes replacing a burned out convergence IC followed by more than an hour realigning everything the customer messed up.

If you cannot align the convergence using the regular menu, it usually means that something is very wrong in the convergence circuits, usually a burned out IC. If you access the service mode and do not know exactly what you are doing, it is possible that you will completely screw the set up. The convergence circuits should be serviced and realigned by a tech experienced with Mitsubishi projection TV's.

It doesn't seem to be putting the lines further of center and the convergence is less noticeable with the color lessened on the picture. Is it impossible for me to access the service menu? And so are you suggesting I call a tv repair service to have them replace the ICs?
