SOURCE: washing machine is not draining

Your drain pump is probably dead. Advice: do not believe anyone who tells you that it is a pain to replace on BOSCH! I just did it myself in less than 45 minutes and thereby saved about $200.

You need to order the part-> go to the BOSCH website and identify the exact model and part number for your machine. I ordered mine from www.appliancepartspros.com/Bosch-Parts.aspx.

The part arrived at my home this morning-it took 2 business days. I called to double check I had the right part and the CS person was very nice and helpful.

Then, beating the odds I did the following with just a pair of pliers and a screw driver:
1- unplug the washing machine (of course)
2- drain any water that could be left in it using the small black drain hose located behind the front bottom door (probably on the right)
3- lie your washing machine on its back-put a piece of wood long enough to cross the width of your machine and it will save your fingers- you will need some thigh and **** muscles as it is a little heavy (but I am a woman and did it without help)
4- remove the bottom front panel of your washer (2 screws)
5- remove the screw holding your pump (above the filter)
6- lying down on the floor, unplug the wires at the back of the pump"s motor
7- using your pliers loosen the braces that hold each of the 2 hoses, and slide them down along the hoses (easier this way)
8- take out the hoses- the pump will drop into your hand
9- place the new unit by screwing it to the front of the machine's casing
10- plug back the wires
11- reposition the hoses making sure that the braces are tightened around the hose + each of the 2 plastic tubes that stick from the pump
12- tilt your machine back up
13- plug your machine
14- you are ready for your first load adn have saved $200 :-)!

SOURCE: water wont drain from wash. Wont spin or drain

Something will be jamming the drain pump (no surprise there).
Some Bosch w/m's have a base plate, some don't.
Pull the w/m forward & tip it back against the wall at >45 degrees - should balance there easily. See if you can get underneath (inside).
If so, (power disconnected), remove the bottom kick plate area, and drop the drain pump back internally & down. Remove the wires & pipes (slowly, if there is still water to drain), and remove the pump. Dismantle it & remove the obstruction.

If there is a base plate, try for all hell to get the filter cap off.
Otherwise, you will have to put the w/m on its back, and unscrew the base plate (often, not an easy feat, as the screws are very still & jam).
Then follow above instructions.

SOURCE: WE HAVE DRAINED THE WATER AND CHECKED THE PUMP CAP

Check to see if the pump itself is operating. Does water run freely from the drain hose when it is lowered below the water level in the machine?

SOURCE: Bosch Maxx Classic wont drain

The correct procedure for removing the filter is to unscrew it anti clockwise, and pull it out.
If it does not come out, then it is possible that there is something stuck in the filter, or the filter seal has swollen
As you unscrew it, try moving it from side to side at the same as you are pulling on it, then screw it back in again, and try the same procedure.
Hope this helps.

Whirlpool Duet washer shuts off when tub fills with water

First, does your unit attempt to clear the water from the drum at all? That is, do you HEAR the drain motor engage and attempt to pull water out of the drum? I had to do a little more than clear the drain filter to fix mine. The drain filter was clear, but my Duet still wouldn't clear the water from the drum. When I pulled off the drain filter cap, I got a trickle (not a GUSH as you normally would) of water, indicating that the problem was further up in the line. However, first confirm there's nothing obstructing the exterior line clear thru to the drain filter. And I have to ask, does ANYTHING drain from the tub-- that is, is NOTHING coming out (in which case it is probably your drain motor), or is it just coming out slowly (indicating an obstruction prior to the motor)? Slowly means you should backtrack from the drain filter to the tub basin. On my unit, there is a black rubber hose that comes off the drain filter and leads to the tub collection basin. This hose attaches with a hose clamp that is easily removed with a set of pliers (in all honesty, in fact, it is considerably more difficult to put it back ON). When you remove it, you'll notice a float at the beginning of the black rubber hose. Clean out around it. Then, (and probably a more likely cause of an obstruction) reach your hand up into the tub basin and feel around. Mine yielded about 5 cups (no kidding) worth of yuck that was causing my drain issue that, when removed, completely solved the problem.

Spin cycle isnt not working

Hi there,

The spin cycle is reliant on the drain pump removing water from the tub.

It is a common ocurrance of objects (ie hair pins, pegs, coins etc) to be mistakenly washed through the cycle. Washing machines will often flush these objects down through the drain pump, and get caught in the little propeller of the pump.

So, it is imperative that you inspect the drain pump first and remove any obstruction within the drain pump cavity.

Turn machine power OFF at the wall and remove the power plug.

i) place an empty bucket on the floor
ii) lower the drain HOSE into the bucket - gravity will cause the water to drain into the bucket. Empty the bucket. Perform this procedure until all water has been emptied from the bowl.
iii) move the washing machine out from the wall, to gain access to the drain pump (usually a large screwcap). Place a large towel on the floor, under the screwcap - this will catch any remaining water that escapes.
iv) unscrew the drain pump cap and withdraw the cap. This cap may also contain a filter, so remove any lint/objects from this filter.
v) with the pump cap/filter removed, look inside the pump cavity and remove any visible obstruction from the impellar (little propeller thing). Then, with your finger, turn the little impellar in both directions - if you feel a 'rubber band' like resistance, then the drain pump may be ok at this point.
vi) remove all wet clothes from the machine bowl.
vii) re-assemble the drain pump cap/filter and secure it in place. Install drain hose back into your laundry tub. Plug machine back into power.
viii) fill the bucket with water and pour water back into your machine's bowl. Repeat with a 2nd bucket of water.
ix) manually select and operate SPIN cycle on the machine. Observe if drain pump functions correctly and empties water from the bowl. If yes, then you have resolved the problem.

If your pump has been cleared of all obtstructions but your machine will still not empty water from the bowl, then a full diagnostic will need to be carried out by an authorised service agent to determine which component has failed.

Let me know how you get on.....

Good Luck..

How to i flush a radiator on a 2000 expedition and what tools do i need?

you need, knife/ gear clamp, screwdriver /nut driver (for gear clamp) and garden hose
with water pressure hook up hot water is better
you can buy a can or to of rad flush but dishwasher soap works good (it wont suds up )
also rad flush kit with garden hose addapter (most kit are compatable)
1-drain existing coolant in container for recycling
2-locate heater return hose to block and cut to installed flush kit addapter
always better to reveres flussh system with engine off and rad cap removed
drain valve closed hook up garden hose and run hot tap water true system
it will eventually cove out your rad cap (surge tank) until it runs clear
know sut off the garden hose add your cleaning additives installed rad filler cap
run engine per direction on can or 10 to 15 min. sut off engine removed filler cap
open drain valve on radiator and drain out system open water from garden hose
run water until clean water run true shut off garden hose and removed cap off with
cap supplied with kit let system drain completly . repeat cleaning operation until
water runs clear
add 1 jug of concentrated coolant (will mix with ressidual water and finish filling
system with premix used recomended coolant only for your engine your freeze
point of new coolant should be above spec and will be fine
do not used pure concentrated coolant only .your ownners manual spec section will

F04 error message on a bosch exxcel 1400 washing machine, then the water wont drain away

This error indicates an obstruction in the water pump. . Tip machine back so you can fit a bowl under the bottom right hand side. Flip back cover at bottom right to reveal pump filter access - unscrew (quite a bit of water comes out so have the bowl ready).

Shows f2 error code wont drain or spin

You have a "drain waterpump fault" To fix this the pump must be dis-assembled and, the obstruction blocking the pump impeller must be removed. First obtain a radiator hose pinch-off plier and, a hoseclamp plier from an autoparts store; place the hose plier on the pump hose just below the tub and/or, just above the pump. squeeze the plier until it locks closed; this will pervent the water in the tub from draining when you remove the pump cover. using a screwdriver open the pump and, remove the obstruction in the pump: be sure to cover the floor under the pump, with rags to catch any water still left in the pump.
