Question about Sharp Viewcam VL-Z1 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
The AV socket is loose -it obviously needs resoldering to the board inside the camcorder. I am confident enough with a soldering iron but how do you take the camcorder apart.
To transfer video you need to use firewire, not usb. If you use firewire to connect, set the camera to the 'play' icon and then open up a capture program (ie, movie maker) you should be able to just record/capture from there. Good luck!

SOURCE: Camcorder Error
I had the same problem with my Viewcam Z. I couln't do anything with it anymore. Eventually got so annoyed that i actually called sharp to figure this thing out. From what technical support told me when you see E007 that means that there is some internal malfunction and the only way to repair the camera is to take it to a SHARP technition. so the question is would you pay alot of money to get this low end camera fixed?? i wouldn't..

If you're pretty sure the camera is just dead and have already resigned yourself to buying a new one you could just pry the door off and get your wedding tape out. There are lots of places that can transfer it to VHS or DVD for a small fee. On another note, I have a camera just like it, have lost the AV cable and can't seem to find a replacement online. Care to sell me yours? If so send me an email at [email protected] Thanks!

As long as you can obtain a charger that is rated the same as the one for your camera it will not be a problem unless the original charger is a microprocessor controlled charger that has the ability to control and change the charging current as the battery charges.
A camera shop can check this out for you.
If it just a simple AC or DC charger, then you can simply use the connector from your original charger and join it either by soldering or with a screw terminal block(which you wrap in Insulating tape once fitted).
The main thing you need to be CERTAIN of is as to whether the original charger is an AC or a DC type.
This will be clearly indicated on the label on the charger.
