IR- Help plz

I have tried to install the IR-3230 many times with it's 'true plug and play' method. For some reason it won't show up in my webcam/scanners folder. None of my programs recognize it eather. It lets me install it every time i plug it in but it never seems to stay installed for even 1 sec. I have windows vista 32 bit home premium. I am tired of trying to fix this myself.
