No, you cannot disconnect the power switch. A defective power switch will not make the set turn on and off by itself, because the power relay is actually controlled by the microprocessor. The microprocessor in your set is trying to start the set but immediately detects a fault somewhere and shuts the set back off. This can be a difficult problem to solve and the set should be serviced by a qualified tech.

At power up, tv scrolls uncontrolably through channels, power light flickers

1. Take remote control far away from tv - 3rd or fourth room. Then switch on tv. If uncontrollable scrolling stops , then cause may be remote button (Ch+ or Ch-) has got dirt inside and its shorting.

2. If taking remote far away doesn't stop scrolling then (Ch+ or Ch-) button on front pannel has shorted. Take a cutter plier and care fully remove button from its circuit board. ( If you know desoldering, it is far better than cutting). If scrolling stops then you can operate channel change with remote.

Toshiba tv keeps on changing inputs at irreguar times on its own and the every button on the remote changes the input. have tried removing batteries from remote but problem continues

There is a known problem with Toshiba Tvs that options change with out any input of buttons or remote. the tv switch panel needs replacement. This is situated behind where the buttons are on your tv usually bottom right. there is a work round if you dont want the expense of part replacement. you can disconnect these buttons and only use the remote. This requires taking off the back (ensure tv is disconnected from power as there is high voltage in the tv) once the back is removed and tv is laying on its front you will see bottom left where the buttons now are, a couple of cables one will have seveal wires and one will only have a couple of wires take the smaller one off this will disconnect the buttons and stop the problem. once this is done you can only use the remote control to control the tv settings but the power on off button still works.
I hope this was useful.

When I plug in the red power wires, the module starts clicking

IT IS IN SAFE MODE AND NEEDS TO BE INITIALIZED BY DOING THE FOLLOWING:
If you have a 4 button remote, you must ground the black/blue hood pin wire (raise hood if hood switch is installed). Apply 12volts to blue/black brake wire (press and hold brake pedal if wire is installed). Press and hold any button on your remote until clicking and flashing stops. Unit will now respond to the remote. Remove ground from hood pin wire and voltage from brake wire. If you have a 2 button remote, hold brake and press any button on the remote until clicking and flashing stops.

Garage door open and closes by itself [email protected]

Anytime a door opens and/or closes randomly or doesn’t work consistently I look for a smashed wire between the motor unit and the wall button.

If the wire is smashed the insulation becomes so thin that power will leak thru the insulation and activate the door or interfere with the remote signal.

Loosen the staples with a small screwdriver and slide the wire about ½ inch to move any areas of thin insulation away from the staples.

The second thing would be a bad wall button or a remote with a sticking button.
Or a remote in someone’s purse that gets the button pushed by other stuff in the purse.

The test is to disconnect the push button wires at the power unit. If the self operation / interference stops you have located the problem. If you reconnect the wires and disconnect the wire at the wall button this will tell you if the problem is the wire or the button.

HOPE THIS HELPS

Reiker ''room conditioner'' heater stopped working

I've also had this problem. Solved it with the reset button on the back of the remote. It's under the battery cover, next to the dip switches.

Turn on the remote, with heat. Then, at the wall switch or circuit box turn off power. Wait a few minutes. Restore power and within 30 seconds with remote in range of fan hit the reset button. You should see a countdown from 5-0 on the remote screen.

I did this and the heat started working again.

RCA P52754AT rear projection tv won't turn on

Good way to test for bad buttons is go inside the back and there is a black multi-wire cable that is connected "front and center" of the center lens on top of the chassis....easy to get to from the back.

Disconnect it....

I've had touchy switches on this unit that cause the problems you're seeing....and who uses the switches? Your remote will still function, and with the buttons disconnected, the microprocessor won't get stuck servicing a false command....which by the way makes it IGNORE the remote when they go goofy on you.....
