Lexmark 1100 won't scan

I had just this problem. the lexmark site was rubbish, as was the techs. i could print, but not scan.

i fixed it like this. on the start bar, find the printer, x1100series. there is an option "UNINSTALL". select, and all of the software will go. let the machine go through it's paces, and once complete RESTART. [if you use the control panel, there is a residue left over, which prevents the next step.]

then next step is to install the printer, and hey presto - it worked for me:)
