That sounds heat related or possibly RAM. Open the side cover and check the CPU fan and heatsink for a dust buildup. You can clean it by gently blowing canned air on the fan and heatsink. While you have the cover off, re-seat the RAM modules. Make sure the PC is unplugged while you do this.
Good luck.

Hi. My Emachines PC is having major problems. At first it wouldn't start, when you pressed the button on the middle of the computer it would light up, then read no signal, and shut off. When I unplugged it...

try this...
  • Unplug the power cord.
  • Remove the battery and hold the power button for 30 to 60 seconds.
  • Re-connect the power and attempt a boot.
  • Shut down, put the battery back in and you're good to go.

My lenovo tablet 7 is stuck on the powering down screen. I can type in my passcode but it will stay on the power down screen.

It might be installing an update. If you disconnected something while it was powering down - Internet, screen or something like that, it might have frozen.
Make sure you have power cable plugged in and the same with the internet (if you normally have one). If it stays the same way for more than 30 min. then you can hold down the power button until the pc turns off (5 seconds). Then wait 30 seconds, then turn it on again.

I have a dell dimension 2400. My starts up fine

Most likely a motherboard issue.

Also ensure the CPU Heatsink is firmly attached. If the heatsink is loose, replace the plastic heatsink retainer

If it is secure, then the motherboard is the most likely failure point

Screen goes black after 30 mins of working.

There are a few things you need to check here.
1. It could be that your computer power management is set to turn your monitor and harddrive off after 30 to 45 min.

If the computer is however working for 30 to 45 min while you doing stuff and it shuts off, the there is an internal problem "Hardware"

I would suggest you check to see if the power management is set to turn off monitor 30 min and harddrive after 45 min. IF that is not so, then we go on to the next test.

It could possibly be your processor fan is not working so once your processor gets over heated it shuts off the computer.

Turn off the computer, remove the case "this is only if you know what you are doing" with the case off, power on the computer and see if the processor fan is working.

You can get back to me and I can walk you through it.

Hope thiss help.

Power light blinking

if the power just shuts off for no reason when booted up,it may be the power source is on the way out ,it will work for a while, but keeps crashing, thats the first thing to replace
also make sure you hear the fans working
if it overheats it has a safty shutoff ,
you can also use a house fan, aimed inside the computer while open, to rule out power source

Losing power to fuel shutoff relay

The power for the shutoff relay actually comes from a secondary winding on the ignition coil itself. Why the enging would shut the fuel pump off is that as the engine ran for a while the coil gets warm and then breaks down or opens up the circuit for the fuel shutoff relay. Fixed by replacing $85.00 coil.

I hv a colemanpowermate 5000/6250w generator- won't stay running

Hi, Please understand that this type of troubleshooting is hard without seeing it but doesn't sound like a fuel issue at all. This genset does have other sensors that will shut it down like low oil and high temperature. Most likely oil from your description. You also don't say what load it is carrying, could you be plugged into something that cycles off and on and when it cycles on the genset shuts down from the overload? If you think this might be the case, disconnect everything and power up a few at a time especially things that cycle on and off like refrigerators, heaters, stoves. Good Luck!

Laptop crashes

well, one of the problems could be that you have had the laptop for a long time and a lot of dust is trapped in the computer. you can probably get this cleaned at bestbuy (geek squad) or circuit city. in my computer, it just locked up

Can anyone help?

Sounds like your power supply may have died. Check all the power connections to your pc (if it is connected to a power-bar, make sure the power bar has not gone bad). If everything looks good there, you probably need to by a new PSU (Power Supply Unit)
