Question about Panasonic DMR-EZ47V DVD Recorder/VCR

1 Answer

Tape Stuck I was inserting a VCR Tape in this Recorder/VCR to copy to DVD. It did not fully insert ... instead error message "F06" appeared, and I was unable to do anything else, including ejecting the VCR. I don't know if there is a release pinhole or anything else on the model to free the tape. The manual covered nothing with this error message. How do I eject the tape and have the recorder work once again?

Dear Sir/Madam: I have had an LG DVD & VCR (model: LVC-837) for under two years and have used it successfully for most of that the time. (I have used other VCR's for thirty years and have never had trouble with timer recordings - even though each brand of VCR has slightly different ways of inputting instructions). During the last couple of months I have encountered a problem with timer recording on my current LG VCR that I cannot understand or correct. When I set the VCR timer recording for several programs the VCR appears to record one or two programs as per instructions (date, start and end time, channel, speed, etc) inputted. Then, without any explanation, the VCR ejects the tape and the remaining programs inputted as timer recordings are left unrecorded. I am always careful to rewind tapes to zero before inserting into VCR, I check and double-check all the input instructions data, etc. But after correctly recording one or two complete programs as per input instructions the tape is ejected and none of the other programs are recorded. Your assistance in correcting this problem would be greatly appreciated. Marvin Blauer ===================

I've checked the entire user manual which notes problems like this need to be referred to authorized service personnel. Myself, I would unplug the entire unit, put it on a kitchen table using a phillips (cross-tip) screwdriver to remove the top metal shell. Remove at least 2 screws each side and 2-5 rear screws securing the top. Nothing like peering inside to see what is causing the VCR to get stuck and help remove it. No release pinhole or tape freeing ejector will work if the unit's tape is tightly wound around some internal object or the tape is stuck because something foreign is inside the unit. Best of success. ZT3000 "Beta tester of "0"s and "1's"

Power off when inserting vhs tape

I had this problem when copying an old family vhs tape. I had to unscrew the top of the magnavox to access the vhs tape. Then, I gently removed the tape and replaced the cover. After winding the tape back, I put it in the player and immediately pushed fast forward for about 3 seconds before hitting play followed by d.dubbing. I was able to make a copy of the tape and did not damage my original.

Have a toshiba tp 61H95 proj TV- want to connect panasonic dvd recorder and toshiba vhs recorder so I can copy family videos to dvd- can't get hook ups set up for both to work.

Select AV-1 or some thing in TV and plug DVD recorder Video-Audio output in AV-1 input of TV, playback any DVD and confirm its picture and sound in TV. Press Stop button of DVD recorder to stop playback.
Now plug Video-Audio output of VCR in DVD recorder input and select AV Input in DVD recorder, insert VHS tape in VCR and playback it and confirm you get VHS picture and sound in TV via DVD recorder.
Hookup between TV, DVD recorder and VCR is completed.
Playback VHS tape in VCR, Insert blank DVD disc in DVD recorder and press Record while you see VHS tape picture in TV.
Hope this info will help you.

No Instruction Manual

1. Insert a blank DVD disc in the DVD deck and
close the disc tray.
2. Insert the VHS video tape you wish to copy into
the VCR deck.
3. Find the place on the VHS tape from which you
want to start dubbing using the PLAY, FF, REW
and PAUSE functions. For best results, pause
playback at the point from which you want to
record.
4. Press the DUBBING button on the Remote
Control or DUB on the front panel.
The Dubbing menu appears.
5. Use the arrow keys to select the desired Record
Mode: EP, LP, SP or XP.
6. Select [Dubbing] then press ENTER or DUBBING
to start copying.
7. To stop dubbing at any other time, press STOP (x).
Dubbing will stop automatically when the VHS tape ends.

VCR Tape Stuck

Unplug the VCR, take the cover off, find the motor (probably on the right side of the mechanism) and turn its shaft with your fingers until you have run the tape back out. Now plug it back in and try it again with a scarificial tape. If it continues to fail, replace all the rubber belts in the mechanism.
Hope ya fix it!
