Girociclo I'll pay to have my ac adaptor fixed!!!!!1

I have the old one...took it to electrical shop but it was beyond their competance....can you help me???? I'm in Virginia at 703 303 1185 is my cell phone...Protron is worthless as they will never have the part!

Protron has now run out of adaptors...after I sent in my check...they apparently had a 'teaser' supply (my guess is 1 or none). They are the worst logistical and support company in the industry. At one time they were considered reputable in tawaiin. Now most tawaiinese know protron/spectronics is synomous with poor support and customer service. The California attorney general really should investigate this company. Please feel free to file a complaint as I did.

contacted customer service numerous times. given the runaround with many excuses why the part was not forthcoming. they do not have the part and cannot get it. they have my check but I have no part.

Hi all. As the rest of you, the power adapater to my Protron (same model above) gave out, and as indicated in this and other blogs on this site, was told by the company to call back in a few weeks when they "should" have more in stock.

While it's a bit more pricey, I found a company by going on e-bay "lcdpayless" by typing in the model No. of the adapter. They make an "equivalent," listed as 99% favorable reviews, that is better and should last longer. Best thing, it shipped within 24 hours. If you are like me and don't care to wait months before Protron (they don't take orders) may have one or two more in stock, give it a shot!

More from STANGRIDER 58 (Best Solution). By the way, I received my "equivalent" from lcdpayless within 3 days. As a follow up, it works like a charm! The box will appear slightly different as they have separated elements into 2. The only difference is that you need 2 outlets. All systems are go, and my Protron PLTV-32 now works perfectly. Give it a shot.

Hi, has anyone actually received the ac adapter, I have called everyday for almost 3 wks, I called again today, and was told they received ac adapters, but it was not for the pltv32, I am now going to try and have the adapter fixed, has anyone tried that? and if so did it work? I guess I should feel blessed, I have had the tv almost 3 years without any problem, but I can not see throwing out a tv when it works fine with the exception of 1 ill made external part. tina

Call protron..they now have the adaptor for 79.99 be prepared to send them a check and wait another 2-3 weeks! A normal company would accept VISA and fed express the part out....

Are you still searching for the AC Adaptor? Do you have a phone number where I can order this AC Adaptor from Protro? My 32inch Protron LCD won't come on and I have a strong feeting it is the AC Adaptor. I also took it to a tech but he was unable to fix it.

Protron said that I would have a new adapter(090-02180-13) in 2 weeks. My tv was under warranty but if it wouldn't have been they said you could order an adapter for $79.00. My adapter is over heating and I have placed a small fan blowing into it and so far it has kept it cool and the tv has not shut off automatically as of yet.

The unit uses a 9.5V AC (at 2A) 'step down' transformer, its doubtful you will be able to replace it with anything modern (as most things are DC, not AC nowadays).
However, you may be lucky and find a similar one in a junk shop or flea market type place, anything in the range 9 - 10V AC and NOT DC should be fine, as long as its at LEAST 2A (or 2000mA), not below, although something at 1.8A might work.
Just splice the leads (doesn't matter which way as its AC) onto the old plug from the damaged unit, just make sure the leads stay apart!
Any decent electrical engineer or advanced electrician should be able to do this (properly!) or fix the unit.
That's the simplest fix.
Splicing good leads for damaged is another option, both sides are AC so it doesn't matter which wire goes to what, unless you are in the UK and the unit is earthed of course.
If the unit is intact and some of the lead is OK both sides, a terminal block connected close to the first break, nearest the transformer can eliminate the broken bit. If its damaged on the actual unit, unless you have someone that can get inside and rewire it (best option), you are looking for a replacement.

You have at least 2 solutions
1- Call Sony and tell them the issue you are having. You'll have to pay to get it fixed (depending on how much you'll have to pay you might be better off buying a new PSP.

2- Do a search for a video game repair shop in or near the city you live in. Make sure it's an actual business at an establishment and not a random person asking you to meet at a parking lot.

A/C system needs to be recharged or repaired. Look in the yellow pages under auto repair and find shops with "radiator" in their ads, call them and ask them if they service air conditioning. If the system is shot, they can tell you before you pay for a worthless recharge. The car is 10 years old and many components in that system can be beyond their service life.

You should go to a local electronics shop with the old adaptor.
They merely need to match: Voltage in Voltage out Current requirements Plug size Plug polarity (center positive or negative) There is nothing "magic" about the original vendors power adapter.

It seem to be the #1 common problem with the Protron TV.
It maybe cheaper to find someone to fix the power supply, but if you get it from LCDPAYLESS, make sure it has some type of warranty on it. I hate to see anyone pay $130 and it only last a couple of months.

Your phone did expirence a surge that probably blew the ac adaptor which happens most of the time, u can buy one of those universal adaptors and look on the back of the old adaptor for the output voltage it will usually read between 3 and 8 volts DC.Set the universal adAptor voltage to the setting right below the voltage output on the back of the ac adaptor.
