Can't use p2p programs with my 6211-I2

I'm actually using a Zhone 6211-I2, provided by my ISP as a DSL modem. The problem is that since I've done so none of my p2p programs are working. I did the whole port forwarding thing (including setting up a static IP) and it hasn't worked. My operating system is Windows XP and my ISP is TSTT in Trinidad and Tobago.

Try this. It's what helped me as turning the firewall off in the modem never helped. Set up the DMZ for the computer (or other router, such as WIFI) that you will be using torrents on. Using Utorrent, you can easily test if the port is running open or closed. Port forwarding and firewall settings never got me anywhere. Let me know if you need more help or if this worked. :)

Make sure there is no firewall running. Even the windows xp firewall can screw up p2p applications.

Ok, I have a Zhone 6211-I3-200 Bridge/Router or in other words a Paradyne ADSL CPE, and I cannot for the life of me get it to work with my Xbox 360. I used to have a different router and I would switch...

Zhone Modem Model #. 6211-13-200-0PA ADSL2 BRIDGE/ROUTER, AN.

I would like to upgrade current Firmware, but it is quite difficult and my ISP support even knows how to do this upgrade.

This zhone 6212-13-200 modem continually connects, disconnects

you will need to use the power supply that came with the zhone
router......other power supplies are not interchangeable.

make sure all other items that are pluged into the other phone jacks
have inline dsl filters....do not filter the router...if you have the whole
house filter on the outside of your house you will not need to put inline
filters inside ...

make sure there are no loose connections...

last call you isp provider

Zhone 6211 no driver usb for WinXp, only for Vista and Windows 7.

Please ensure that your PC is updated to accept/connect to USB devices in your (O/S).

Download your USB DSL modem driver at this link: http://www.zhone.com/support/downloads/drivers/

You have to check your modem specs though. It looks like this:
ADSL+, 6211-I2, Bridge/Router. etc.

After you download it, install the driver (plug out the modem and plug it in back. The USB detection will initiate, and ask for driver. Use the downloaded driver and
it will say NDIS Remote Driver..... THIS IS FINE. You may have to go to network in control panel and make your fine tuning as you require (setup lan icon, firewall, etc). Thats it !

PS. Yes it does work. I just installed it about an hour ago, USB and all, WindowsXP 64 bit !

Zhone linksys router

hello!

-- who is your internet service provider
-- what is the operating system of your computer?
-- is this working fine before or is this a brand new router

i have read the same problem on the supportrix forum and you may try this and see if this help solve your problem. make sure your computer is directly connected to the router

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings
Step 7: test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router and repeat the same steps.
note:
configuring the router settings will depends who is your provider. if your isp is dsl you need to configure your ISP username (email address format) and password on the router. if your router is a cable no need to change any settings on the router. it should automatically work
