I have a Sony TV model KV-2167MT Trinitron.I'm facing problem while switch on from front switch Standby LED blinking while press any switch Like Volume up down, program up down. but power not on.
I replaced 2sd1878 and PS801. it work 30 minutes after that transister get short again I change tr. but problem is same. Tr. 2sd1878 short after 30 minutes. I check output voltage 110V DC is normal.
Any one have solution. please reply...
I replaced original Sony Transister and resolder the pins of the horizontal driver transformar and near area printed circuit board. But it not help me again transister short after few minutes.
Please suggest what to do???

I try with above mention solution. first i clean all PCB and re-solder all component near to Horizental output section and observe more then two hrs. Know set is working fine.

Be sure to use an ORIGINAL Sony transistor and be sure to resolder the pins of the small horizontal driver transformer and all parts connected to and around it, and your set should be fine.
Again, you must be sure to use an original Sony horizontal output transistor and you must resolder the pins of the horizontal DRIVE transformer, not the flyback transformer. The horizontal drive transformer is the little transformer that is connected to the BASE of the horizontal output transistor, with 4 working pins. The flyback is the large transformer connected to the COLLECTOR of the horizontal output transistor, with many pins arranged in a circle. The little drive transformer has one or more large resistors near it and the little drive transistor. Be sure to solder all pins of that little transformer and ALL parts near and around it, and all parts between the little transformer and the output transistor, as well as all damper diodes, safety caps and yoke connector pins. How many times do this standby LED blinks at one time switch on? These blinks are fault indications. From the number of these blinks, you can get an idea about the faulty section circuit inside. How many times the standby light at its front panel blinks? Count it. These blinks are fault indications. Check this link for more details about Sony Blinking codes. Count the blinks that occur once, after switch the TV On by its front panel power switch. Check it.
In standby mode (red led on/after the led stops from blinking), press "Display", "5", Volume (-)", "Power on" on the remote control in sequence, self diagnostic screen will be display, let me know the what is on the screen to diagnose where the fault came from.

Standby light on Sony TVs blinks 16 times is abnormal I thiks. It may come up to 8 blinks or so. You jsut switch off the set by AC mains switch at the front panel, switch it again with it and count the exact numbers. Never switch it On_Off by remote hanset.
If it happens even after this process, you just do the following
Press the following button on your remote control as stated "Display"_"Channel"_"5"_"Vol Minus" [not plus] then "Power".
You may get "OVP" "OCP" "V STOP" etc displayed on the screen.
Just report the result to me through Fixya. Ok.
I have not worked on your particular model. But, I have serviced many TV sets over the years. My answer will ge generic.
Check all the capacitors in the horizontal output stage and power supply areas for high ESR. All the caps that are out of spec must be changed.
The high voltage multiplier & flyback can also cause the fault you are having.
You have to consider that the DC voltages are not the only important spec that has to be met. There are also many power drive signals that work with reactive devices. If there is any defect in the critical areas there will be failures.
