Icon issues the message icon will not turn off, I do not have any messages

Try turning the phone off and on again. Wait 30s in between off and and on.

you need to disable default SMS, as well as turn off message retrieval with default SMS. you can press and hold on the home screen and edit which icons are present. once the handcent icon is on the home screen you should be able to press and hold on the sms icon at the bottom and drag it to home and then press, hold, and drag the handcent icon to take its place. good luck!

Turn threaded messages OFF. Sometimes, remnants of threaded messages can remain. Goto Start, settings, System Tab, Text Messaging Icon and choose CLASSIC for the layout. Then click Done.

Perform a hard reset on the BlackBerry smartphone.

from your local service provider, icon turns
on when you have a new message in your
mailbox. After you have accessed to all the new
messages, icon will turn off automatically. If
you find that the message waiting indication
cannot be turned off by the network, you can
still turn off the message waiting indication with
your phone by the following step :

In idle mode, if voice mail waiting icon is on,
long press the redial key to turn off the voice mail waiting
icon.
Once you choose to delete the message waiting
indication, all the other handsets registered to
the same base station will turn off the message
waiting indication accordingly.

this is happening because your "SIM Messages" are full......go to messaging , select the option to view SIM Messages.....then move / copy / delete as you wish ......this will take take of the blinking icon.....

You can contact orange and have them refresh your voice mailbox but if that doesn't work you can connect your phone to iTunes on a computer and restore the software. Set up as new and see if the issue persist. If it is fixed you can try to restore from your back up. If the issue comes back when you put your information on there, then you will need to set up as new

i cant figured out the battery issue myself but you can reset the voice icon to zero through setting ...more...morephone settings then more again then hit the clear voicemail icon

BABYBRAINS - you should master clear the phone this will erase all data , pics , vidz on your phone but will remove the annoying icon.

LOTTIE86 - take the phone and have the firmware reflash if master resetting is not helping.

not a bug in the phone call your provider and ahve them delete your vm and then reactivate it to delete the icon.
