The camera powers up and everything seems to be working, but I cannot see anything on the screen. When I connect the camera to my TV screen I can see the viewfinder, browse pictures etc.
Any ideas? thanks, Simon

Re:
A screen fails in one of two ways.
1.Backlight goes- If looked at closely or to one side the images are there as ghosts but not illuminiated.
2. Connector or board component has failed which could mean with a back light Okay a brilliant white screen.
Failure 1 - nothing for you to do there
Failure two -if it is a connector- gently flexing the camera casing in the region of the base of the screen may elicit a reconnect.
In either case however- I think you will find that unless it is under warranty or insured in some way- New camera will be a more economical approach.

did you drop it?, most likely this occurs of people drop their cameras and the inside connection dislocates. simple solution is to take it apart and fix any loose connection on the lcd and put it bak together. if that doesn't solve it, order a new lcd for it, unless if it's lesss of a hastle getting a new camera
seems like your LCD screen has malfunctioned. Contact the manufacturer (canon) for a possible solution. If they can't fix it...they might send u a new one...good luck! hope this helps!
I tried all the solutions offered on the net and none worked except one. It simply said "hit the camera with the palm of your hand" (when it is on) and the screen will return. I thought, well I have nothing to lose and so I hit it on the side and sure enough the LCD is again working !!!
