Why would you give a guy a rating for being straight and honest with you. Your amp is fried and your respond as if it is his fault by giving him a non helpful rating. It is as if you are making him responsible for you frying your amp, I support his diagnosis and I have been designing and repairing them for over 20 years. I expect you to lash out and give me a bad rating also.

My amp and system works fine with the car on acc but when the car is running , the amp started smoking and it goes into protect mode

Your amp is trying to make up for the lack of available voltage that is being used by your car and to a maintain output it will then start to draw more current to accomodate the drop. The formula that shows the proportions of Voltage (Electricity) and Amperage (Intensity) to Watts (Power). It looks like this P=IxE So if your amp is 1400watts and it's getting 14 volts it will take 100 amps to power it (given the amp is 100% efficient, which no amps are) so when you turn on your AC that puts a load on your motor and alternator too for the fan and the compressor slows down your alternator making the voltage drop down to 10 volts with everything full blast. That means you amp is now pulling 140 amps of current to make up for the voltage drop, Your wire that is going to the amp is probably getting pretty warm at that time also unless you have 4 ga or larger. So when the voltage gets too low the amp will turn off and go into protect mode to keep the current in the rails from getting the amp so hot it will eventually cook the components inside of it. You will be looking for a higher output alternator just like everyone else who has high powered amps.

My dryer starts the first time with no problem, but after about an hour it starts to make a kind of buzzing sound. If I don't shut it off at this point it shuts itself off after another minute or two....

You are absolutely correct that the motor is the problem and needs to be replaced. The motor is overheating and its thermal overload protector trips off causing the dryer to shut down. Thermal overload protector resets and allows the motor to run again only when it has cooled down. It is the reason why the dryer is not turning on immediately after it shuts off. Replacing the motor will definitely solve the problem.

My Hitachi EC12 builds pressure, shuts off, then air escapes

I have the same compressor with the same problem. I have temporarily eliminated the thermal reset with a piece of 12 gauge hard wire and it runs just fine. However, I do want to replace it before the warm weather come to the north. I tested the draw at 15.5 amps and the reset was a 17 amp. I am told by someone with superior electrical background that I need to install a 20 amp thermal reset in it's place. I have found that mine runs best when plugged directly into a 20 amp circuit and when using an extention cord I have a 10 guage cord that will carry the load needed to run the EC12. I have also changed to 100% synthetic oil.

Inspiron 1100--fan has recently started running often & long. Computer gets very warm to the touch & runs very slowly. Shuts down randomly--during virus scans, disk clean ups, etc

sounds like the heat exchanger is clogged. Try using canned air blowing in both the air intake and exhaust to unclog the heatsink and also make sure the system has the most current BIOS version.

Rascal scooter mo 655 motor stops going up hills

the batteries could be the problem, is it possible to try some other batteries, silly question , how steep is this hill ? remember scooters cannot climb steep hills as the motor will shut down due to the increased load.

1 Year old batteries ok ? but if they get used on a non daily basis and are not fully charged after use, I would question the batteries but again the motor could be overloading,

How much do you weight ? sorry for the personal question but it all loads the motor and that increases the current and that will cause the motor controller to shut it down.

Onkyo TX-SR705 shuts down suddenly

Onkyo receivers have a safety circuit in them to protect the Amplifier from blowing up:

If you listen closely when it shuts down ( after a loud scene ) there is likely a loud 'Relay Click'..
If this is what is happening you might be able to verify it by turning the volume all the way 'off' and waiting for the circuit ro reset ( releasing the safety relays & returning power to the internal Amplifier ) : you should hear another click, yhen you can bring the volume back up carefully and there will be sound again.

This safety circuit trips when then Onkyo receiver detects an 'Over Current' condition on the
' Power Supply ' that feeds the internal 'Audio Amplifier'..

Generally caused by:

1.
Improper load presented to the Amp outputs ( FL, LR, RL, RR, SUB, CENTER )
If you can ( one at a time ) turn off the SUB, Center, Fronts and Rears: trying to re-create the failure each time while you have one part of your system disabled or having their level turned way down..
You can isolate where the problem is coming from.

- any or all of these speakers being the wrong Impedence ( I.E. 4 Ohms instead of 8 Ohms )
Unless the receiver manual or the sticker near the 'speaker connetor' specifies a range or another value, you should assume 8 Ohms. Your speakers should say on the back of them.

- any of the speakers being connected in parallel ( 2 speakers to a single one speaker output ) .. Two 8 Ohm speakers connected in parallel make a 4 Ohm load to the amplifier.

- If the Suwoofer is Passive ( Not having its own power cord and amplifer ) it has a
Passive Crossover : this crossover can have its own power rating or limitation.. If it is constructed with capacitors that have too low of a working voltage, then they can saturate and the crossover itself can present a load to the amplifier that will case this 'Over Current Shut-Down'..

You user manual should detail this.

Fahrenheat fuh 54 b does not run long enough to get garage warm

have you checked what the operating amps are vs. the amps provided by the outlet. Sounds like you are trying to pull to much load and the machine probably has a saftey to where it shuts down bofore it buns itself up. Hope this helps. You have to be real careful about overloading circuts.

TV goes off intermittently

sounds like an intermittent shut down which is heat related. some part , maybe one stuck on a heatsink is warming up and running too much current triggering shutdown.
to find it you can tell what is shutting down with a voltmeter, or you can heat suspected parts with a blow dryer to speed the shutdown .. or freeze spray to see if it goes beyond your shutdown time.
