The drivers *must* be for Win Vista - not XP.

I am trying to install my hp officejet 4110 all in one printer but my laptop has windows vista and the software stops installing when it tells me to plug in the printer cable. In the beginning of...

Unplug Printer from PC and wall.

delete the printer from device manager.

Vista has the appropriate driver pre-installed.

Shut down PC.

Plug in printer to wall and PC.

Restart PC.

Let windows recognize the new hardware.

Is the printer USB?
The USB may be disabled in BIOS.
If you need further help, please re-post.

I have a Roland Camm-1 CX-24 cutting machine that has a parallel connection. I have recently bought a Dell Inspiron 1720 with a Windows Vista OS. I have a USB to Parallel cable to connect the two. I have...

connect the printer and the comp. and boot up....windows should recognize the new device.
did you add the plotter to "add printers" and its driver and to the correct port?
make sure your plotter is on and loaded and function key pressed.
also some cable manufacturers supply a driver...so download one if need be.
what software are you using? is the software cutter driver set to the correct printer and port?
(by default it never is)!!

Windows XP will not recognize Garmin 200W

I had the same issue. I would plug it in and it would recognize the device then it would disappear.

What I did to solve the problem was to first turn on my Gamin 200w. After it was finished loading maps then I plugged in in to the usb port. My machine recognized the device without any problems. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium. Hope that helps.

Not windows vista compatible?

I'm taking it that the Meade website either gives you a specific Vista driver or says Vista will recognize the binocs.

(My example to let you know where I'm going: Sony said my video cam was compatible with Vista, but provided no drivers. Vista itself didn't even let me know something was plugged it. I searched and searched, and finally found a site that said they the model to work work with Vista through Firewire IEEE1394).

So just because a manufacturer says that product will work with Vista doesn't mean it will easily work. Firewire is like USB anyway but faster and better video quality.

Do not have installion disk for lexmark x85

You didn't specify the operating system you are using.

However, drivers can be downloaded here, directly from Lexmark:

http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?lxkprod=Lexmark+X85

IF you are using Windows Vista (you will see there are no Vista drivers listed), people have reported success using Windows 2000 drivers on Vista.

Be sure to UNPLUG the printer from the PC before installing the software. Only plug it in when the on-screen instructions tell you to do so.

First off you need to connect the printer to your computer. Make sure the fax is plugged into the phone line. Then install the correct drivers for your printer.

If you have vista follow this: link click here

Attention Windows Vista Users
If you have installed your printer on your PC using an original Lexmark Driver CD that came with your product and you are experiencing problems when printing, you may have installed the Windows XP driver.

Follow these steps to resolve:
· Disconnect your USB cable from your printer.
· Uninstall all Lexmark printer drivers on your PC.
· Download the correct Vista driver for your model.
· Install the driver on your PC.

Important - Do not reconnect the USB cable until the install software prompts the question of how the printer is connected.

Driver Issues on Windows Vista Basic

As an adhoc solution you may try to download drivers for XP SP2, tell the driver installation applet to search for drivers from the folder you downloaded them to when it tells you this driver was not made for Vista tell it to install them anyway. It may not work but as this manufacturer is no longer in the modem biz vista is not supported by them at this time.
