You haven't reinstalled the drivers for your sound device. If it's a Dell, you'll either need the Blue/Gray CD that came with the computer labeled "Device Drivers", or go to support.dell.com enter your service tag #, and select "Drivers", and download drivers for sound.

Its running real slow i just got the computer and would like to reboot the whole thing

I would suggest getting more ram, uninstalling unused programs, and ensure you have no viruses or spyware before rebooting the whole thing. Also try Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter which are included in every windows install. var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_8c66e6b90b1f41da81fe7925163cc6e9(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); } FCTB_Init_8c66e6b90b1f41da81fe7925163cc6e9(document['FCTB_Init_840462b29f7947a29ec87e686e109d2e']); delete document['FCTB_Init_840462b29f7947a29ec87e686e109d2e']

How can I locate a recovery disk for my computer? It seems to have a virus and needs wiped clean.

I have a different solution, one that might not require you to wipe your computer completely. You could try booting into safe mode first, by hitting f8 after your boot screen, but before you see the windows logo. Select safe mode.

Once you've successfully booted, hold down your windows key and hit "R". Type "msconfig" and hit enter.

Under the services tab, click the "hide all microsoft services" and uncheck everything you see. Under the startup tab, uncheck everything also. Click OK and restart.

When it boots normally, and you see the popup box saying you made some changes.. etc etc: click the checkbox to hide, and click OK.

Now, go to www.combofix.org, download, and run. Follow the instructions carefully - it will create a system restore point and install the recovery console. It may reboot your computer.

Once it is done and a log has shown on your screen, download and install a free antivirus such as AVG (free.avg.com), update, and run a full scan.

After this, you should be OK.

A recovery disk either comes with your computer or is installed on another partition that is accessible via a function key at startup - so when you turn on your computer, you hit F# (usually 8, 10, 11, 12) and it should give you some options to restore the recovery partition.

System restore utility not getting activated by known methods

I'm a certified computer tech and have been doing this for years. system restore often causes more problems than it fixes. I recently ran into this issue on a friends computer. upon investigating his computer was infected with a nasty virus that infected all of his restore points. go to housecall.antiviurs.com or another security website and run a free online virus scan. check that first, if that isn't the problem try manually going into system restore and running it (start > all programs> Accessories > System Tools > system restore). it may be able to be fixed with the system restore. if not you may want to consider either taking it to a technician or backing up your files and reloading the comptuer.

My screne comes on but no icons.

Sounds to me like you could have a virus, although there are other things that could cause this as well. I would first run a virus scan to rule this out. Then open your control panel and click on 'performance and maintenance', then System Restore in the left-hand column. Follow the instructions for 'restore my computer to an earlier time' and
choose a date before this began. Good Luck!

How is the beeping sound do you hear. Is it a long single beep or two small beeps or something else. Usually the beeping sound is related to a hardware issue. Could be the RAM or any other internal hardware connection that could have loosened. You can check the hardware connections, that might help. Moreover, you did not mention what exactly you would like to delete from your computer. That would help me to help you better.
