I just replaced the lcd screen in my ipod and made sure all the ribbons were back on tight, Now all i get is a white screen even plugging it to my computer im still getting a plain white screen My old screen showed everything the apple logo but the screen was damaged in the upper right corner now since replacing the lcd I get nothing but a whte screen. Itunes does not recognize it.
I'm assuming you checked if the latch is closed properly If hard resetting and restoring it doesn't work you bought a broken LCD screen. There is an iPod repair website that shows you how to replace the screen yourself, they carry warrantied parts as well.
If you bought the new 'super bright' lcd for ipods then this is the problem. The new 'super bright' lcds for sale on ebay are only for 6th gen ipods. Buy a 5th gen lcd and all problems will be solved.
The display being white can be due to failure of the LCD.So to confirm remove battery and reset. It can also be a fault on the linking cable or the control board.
Remove the battery and keep the phone aside to reset and try as a last resort. If not the LCD display could be faulty. Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.
Thank You for using fixya
