Power off the printer and hold down the two top right buttons and power the printer back up. You will be taken to a menu that you will be able to scroll through. Look for the "Maint Count Reset" option and press the "enter or go" button and reset the count.

We changed the fuser on the IBM Infoprint 40 Model #004, Type 4332. However, after changing the fuser, we still get an error code in the display that says "008 Change Fuser." What does code 008 mean? ...

008 is the printers code to tell you to replace the Maintenance Kit. IBM Part Number 90H3567. After installing it, you have to make sure to tell the printer to reset the count value for that maintenance kit.

You need to replace your Maintenance kit and reset the fuser count.

Xerox Phaser 8550 Maintenace Kit is stuck in the

If you remove the right side cover, you can operate the process drive gearbox with a straight-blade screwdriver on the end of the shaft (bottom of printer right in front of maintenance kit). This is the end of the drum maintenance camshaft. Rotate clockwise slowly. It's possible that the cams have cracked and rotated on the shaft. This is the weak point on these printers. If so, they may not be in sync. Good luck.

Error 80-maintenance

80 Scheduled Maintenance

The operator panel displays this message at each
300K page count interval. It is necessary to replace
the fuser assembly, transfer roller, charge roll, and pick
rolls at this interval to maintain the print quality and
reliability of the printer. The parts are available as a
maintenance kit.

I am getting paper jam error code 201 and it has been happening more often the last couple of days. Would this indicate I need to install maintenance kit??

It can indicate you need pickup rolllers. You can confirm this by checking the rollers in each tray. If they feel smooth, then they need to be replaced. These do come as part of a maintenance kit, but the full kit cost a couple hundred dollars, while the rollers cost under 10. If it is not prompting you for a kit, only buy the rollers.

Keep getting an error message "202 Paper Jam Open Rear Door", cannot clear the message. We ordered a maintenace kit maybe 3 months ago.

If you can't see any paper stuck inside the printer when you open the rear door or when you remove the toner cartridge, the rear paper flag is either stuck or broken.
The flag is a small piece of plastic which sits at the rear of the fuser and as the paper exits the fuser it pushes the flag down. The easiest way to see this is to remove the rear door then the rear cover (two screws).
If it's broken you'll require a replacement fuser (i don't think you can get the part separtely), but if you have recently installed a maintenance kit, i would contact the supplier and ask for a replacement.

Maint kit install and page count

Pretty easy, the maintenance kit consists of a transfer roller (black roller that sits underneath toner cartridge), charge roller (sits above toner cartridge), fuser (rear of printer behind two plastic covers), and paper feed rollers. The maintenance kit should have details with diagrams.

To reset
To reset the Maintenance counter, turn off the printer.
Press and hold both Select & Return while powering on the printer.
Hold until display reads 'Performing Self Test" then let go of the buttons.
If the printer displays "80 Maintenance Due" Press the Go Key.
Press the right Menu Key and scroll to Reset Maintenance Counter.
Press the Select Key. Press the Select Key again to reset the counter.
When the reset operation is complete, press the right Menu key to exit Configuration Menu and press Select.
Printer will save the settings, IPL and come back to Ready.
