Maytag washer when cold cycle is on. only hot water comes out. please advise.

ALMOST CERTAINLY, YOUR HOT AND COLD WATER PIPES ARE NOT CONNECTED CORRECTLY.(HOT MUST GO TO COLD AND COLD TO HOT.)

When washer fills on warm water mode, it alternates between cold and hot water coming out in spurts. Is this normal, as it doesnt do it on rinse cycle.
yes its normal the reason it does not do it on rinse is that only cold water is used to rinse not /hot warm

My Maytag clothes washer won't fill with hot water
Then you most likely have a bad hot water valve. On Maytags the valve is one combo unit for both hot and cold. Maytag didn't change that much for a number of years, so you may be able to salvage one out of an old machine somewhere and fit it in -- that's what I did when my wife's Maytag did this.

Maytag Neptune Front Load Washer Model MAH4000AWW low last spin
two problems here,
your shaft seal is running on its last leg
the sound is unmistakeable and always described the same...
the water issue, you probably have a trickle leak through the cold water valve
the mixing valve is quite an easy repair, but I would have to say with all honesty, it probably time for a new machine
the hub seal is a tub replacment call
2 hrs of labor if hes good
and the tub runs around 500.00 dollars

Maytag washer will not go into rinse cycle
Hi, Does the timer advance to rinse but the washer soes not fill? Make sure that you have both hot and cold water. While the washer is in wash cycle, check and see if the hot and cold water work.
This is just the first thing to check. If both hot and cold are working, please let me know so I can assist you further.

Maytag Atlantis top load washer that wont' let cold water cycle through. Water is always hot or luke warm. checked screens on hoses. Any suggestions?
ok just a touch of help for ,,onthejob...i need you to start at a cycle and put unit on cold cold,,ok...now i want you to put your hand on back of unit where the inlet vavle and the hose meet at unit...do you feel a vibebration,,or here it humming,,now if hot water comes though,,all you have to do is reverse the hoses there on wrong,,im here onthejob

washer may not be detecting water temp but water flow ..if you never use hot water may try hooking cold water to a Y-connector and then hooking to both hot and cold inlet valves ..however it is also possible washer is detecting inlet temps in which case you're out of luck ..i suspect the latter

Water temperature
It sounds like your water inlet valve (also known as a Mixing Valve on some washers) HOT solenoid is sticking open. When you select either a hot or cold wash cycle, separate solenoids open or close to allow only cold water to enter the washer on the cold wash cycles and hot water to enter on the hot cycles. If the hot solenoid stays open, you will have hot water mixing with your cold water during the cold cycles. The result is warm water. I would recommend you replace the water inlet valve. This is a job the average DIYer can do. Please post back with your model number and I can assist you with locating a part number and/or give you specifics on how to access the valve to replace it.

No hot water
Make sure your hot water supply valve is on first. If so then try reversing the hot and cold water feed lines and see if you get hot water when asking for cold. The water valve for the hot water side could be bad. Are you familiar with a voltage meter or know someone that can see if you valve coil is getting 120V when the machine is trying to fill with hot water. If not the control unit is faulty. If you do have the 120Vac on the solinoid coil and no water the either the coil is open circuit(bad) or the inlet is plugged. Most generally the problem is in the control knob unit.
