Be brave and have a go, buy the correct ink refill for your selection of cartridges, the packaging on the refill kits will tell you if your printer is included. Once you find one for yours, instructions come with it. I think your cartridges have plastic ones don't they? Make sure when you fill with syringe you follow instructions very closely to avoid air bubbles and always run a clean when you put it back in. I refill all the time, and each time i refill (i get 7-8 refills each cartridge now the way i do it) i am saving $80.00 both cartridges. This can be most of a thousand dollars a year for me.

Many times manufacturers use a sensor in the cartridge to defeat customers using "compatible" or "refilled" cartridges. In many cases you can just cancel out or hit stop or cancel several times to make the printer ignore the warning. If this does not work you will have to purchase the original equipment cartridge to be able to use your printer. I would think that you should be able to return the cartridges in question for a full refund.

Check to make sure you have installed the cartridges the correct side up. The B side should be facing up with the bar code on the right hand side. The cartridges should be the medium gray and not medium blue.
error code 1102 Hi there Your error message is coming from the Dell Series 5 ink Cartridge. To reset the error message, unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer. Wait 60 seconds and then plug everything back in. This usually resets any error messages on the printer. Make sure the Dell Series 5 ink cartridges are intalled correctly by removing them and re-seating them . Black in left or black side, color in right side or color side If using a photo cartridge... Photo cartridge in the black side(left) and color in the color side(right) Dell Series 5 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset It is also possible to get a new ink cartridge with a bad sensor. Please take it to the place of purchase for a refund or a replacement one. The cartrages can be purchased from just about anywhere... I looked them up at www.tigerdirect.com and they go for about $25 for the black one and $13 for each color. You should be able to just buy the ones you need. Here are the part numbers for the cartridges:
drill a 2 mm hole into the brandname (e.g. O of brother ) on top of the cart. You can leave the hole open and leave the carts in the printer in future for further refilling ;-)
The cart can be refilled by inserting a syringe without a needle into the ink Outlet(!) at the bottom, too. Carefully press a 12ml for C/Y/M and ca. 15ml - 18ml for BK into the carts.
Do use DYE-ink only!
Important: You must mix the dye-ink with some 85%-glycerin alc. to keep the print head nozzels alive = 10ml ink with 2ml glycerin alc (drugstore).
For BK: 15ml ink + 1,5ml glycerin alc!
Info code 45 really means Toner cartridge is not installed.Info code 41 is out of toner & code 43 is toner getting low. There are three connection points inside of the fax machine that tell the machine that a cartridge is installed. Open the cartridge door & remove the cartridge. Verify that the metal tabs on the right hand side above the drive gear stick out far enough to make contact with the cartridge. There should also be two wires that are located on the left hand side that also make contact with the cartridge. Try putting your used/empty cartridge in & see if your info code changes to a 41 or 43.If not, you may have a broken connection. I have found that some compatible cartridges for the panafaxes are missing metal tabs that make contact with the connectors. Compare a cartridge that worked to the one that doesn't to see if it's missing metal tabs. This is not an issue if you are using OEM.
