Question about Tomtom GO 910 GPS Receiver

2 Answers

Switch off/on My 910 won't turn off, and displays a screen with basic device parameters, such as BootLoader Version; CPU IDA etc. I've tried nuerous resets, no luck. It does not show as connected to my computer through the dock, so I can't fix it that way. Any ideas, short of leaving it on until the battery dies? Thanks, Andy

If TomTom Home isn't installed on the computer, you can go to http://www.tomtom.com/home to download the latest version. You'll be walked step-by-step through the downloading and installation procedures. Once that's installed on your computer, you may continue. - Plug the home charger into the wall and into the home dock - Plug the home dock into the computer through a USB port - Put the unit on the home dock, but keep it turned off - Go to http://www.tomtom.com/4987 - Scroll down to the first download choice "Window Update" - Turn your unit on - Run the file May 06 Update, no need to save it, ignore TomTom Home asking you to update - After the program runs, turn the unit off - Disconnect the unit from the mount, turn it back on, and reconnect it - Go to http://www.tomtom.com/6211 - Run the Clear Flash Tool, no need to save it - Open TomTom Home and click 'Download Your Updates' in the first column at the top if it's not there already - There will be a Program Application available for download, say 'OK' - After item is downloaded it will ask you if you want to install the downloaded items, say 'OK' - Using 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon in your toolbar, safely disconnect your GO 910 - You may need to reset the device once or twice (http://www.tomtom.com/7134) - The unit should now boot up with no problems If you have any further questions or comments, please e-mail or call us at 866-486-6866 Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM until 7:00 PM EST. Thanks again for writing. At TomTom we believe in showing you the way the easy way.

How to reset an android

I'm assuming you mean a factory reset... the procedure varies between different devices. (backup anything that you want to have again after the reset, Titanium backup is a good app for that) The usual basic idea is to first get to the bootloader screen, which is usually done by turning the device off, and then holding down some combination of buttons (ex: power + vol down + home) until the bootloader screen appears. Google search bootloader for your device and you shouldn't have much trouble finding which buttons to press. Then its simply a matter of highlighting factory reset and selecting it (again, how to do this varies on different devices... some use vol buttons to move up/down and power to select).
If this doesn't help, a very useful resource for everything android is:
Welcome to xda developers community founded for developers by developers
and you can search for your specific device toward the top-right of the page.

My textbook 7p won't turn on

This tablet does t reset with the power button unlike other Android devices. When you hold down the on/off switch, it only drains the battery. If you see the color indicator still charging, allow a full charge. Then, only stay put and pulse the button for a moment quick and let it rest few seconds to try again and again. Only when u see a light coming out of the screen, and I recommend you do this with the power cord on, you hold the power switch down until the rebooting is iniciated. Let go til it is finish and see where the problem is. More likely, like mine, the Settings stop working and needs tune up for the CPU. Never leave an application running when closing your system. With or without internet connection.

My iPhone volume won't stop popping up on my

Try updating your iOS to the latest version, if the issue still occurs then you have a faulty volume control switch. If you are comfortable taking apart the phone you can get replacement parts at ifixit.com

otherwise try contacting your wireless provider or apple to see if the device is still under warranty.

Phone crashed and weird message on screen

Hi,

Did you do anything with your phone? If this just popped out out of nothing I suspect you have hardware damage. This can happen for example if your phone got too hot (left it in car in full sun) or it got wet.

What you can try to solve the problem is flashing the bootloader (this is what the phone is basically asking for). Flashing the bootloader isn't without risk though. You have to find a good bootloader file for your F480 and upload it using 'MultiLoader'. Very important is that your battery is fully charged and while flashing make sure as many useless software on your computer is closed (anti-virus / messengers / sync soft etc) and you are not using the computer while flashing.

Best regards,
