For the past few weeks, every time I turn my printer on/try to print, it tells me there is a paper jam. So I followed every instruction and nothing has solved the problem. There is no paper, the ink carts are properly installed, etc. I bought the printer only a few months ago. This is the first problem I have had with it.
You may wish to try checking the paper path of the printer. Open the back door of the printer where you would open it to let an envelope come out, and check underneath the rollers in the main cartridge area. Sometimes, small pieces of paper may get stuck and it trips the paper jam detection circuit. As this is an inkjet printer, there shouldn't be too much going on in there as it's not as complex as a laser printer is.
I have 4 hp printers. And usually a paper jam tell me I need to open the back of the printer to check is something is there. What is the substance of the paper you are using?

This is a design flaw with this printer. Try stretching and/or replacing the two coiled compression springs under the output flap of the paper tray. This should work for a few weeks, then you'll have to repeat the process. I stocked up on a few pairs of springs at Ace Hardware.
It's a shame, because the print quality on this printer is superb, considering the price, but dealing with this issue is a real pain. I've replaced the springs 3 or 4 times, and I haven't even used up one toner cartridge yet. I'm on the lookout for a replacement low cost color printer. I would never buy a Samsung printer again.
If the jammed paper is removed completely by using the information in the following steps, you can install the paper tray first, and then close the front cover and the printer will resume printing automatically.
If the printer does not start printing automatically, press the Go button. If the printer still does not start printing, please check that all the remaining jammed paper has been removed from the printer. Then try printing again.
Note
If a paper jam occurs when using the optional lower tray unit, check for correct installation of the upper paper tray.
Always remove all paper from the paper tray and straighten the stack when you add new paper. This helps prevent multiple sheets of paper from feeding through the printer at one time and reduces paper jams.
Pull the paper tray completely out of the printer.
Pull the jammed paper up and out of the printer.
Press the cover release button and then open the front cover.
Pull out the drum unit assembly. Pull the jammed paper up and out of the printer. If you cannot remove the drum unit assembly easily at this time, do not use extra force. Instead, pull the edge of the jammed paper from the paper tray. If the jammed paper can not be pulled out easily, turn the jam dial towards you as you gently pull the paper out.
Caution
To prevent damage to the printer caused by static electricity, do not touch the electrodes shown below.
Open the face-up output tray. Pull the jammed paper out of the fuser unit. If the paper jam can be cleared, go to Step 7.
Note
If you have to pull the paper toward the back of the printer, the fuser may get dirty with toner powder and it may scatter on the next few printouts. Print a few copies of the test page until the scattering of toner stops.
Caution
After you have just used the printer, some internal parts of the printer are extremely hot! Wait for the printer to cool down before you touch the internal parts of the printer.
Open the jam clear cover. Pull the jammed paper out of the fuser unit.
Close the jam clear cover. Close the face-up output tray. If the paper jam still cannot be cleared, for HL-5130 and HL-5140 users go to Step 10, and for all other users go to the next step.
Pull the Duplex Tray completly out of the printer.
Pull the jammed paper out of the printer or the Duplex tray. Put the Duplex tray back into the printer.
Push the lock lever down and take the toner cartridge out of the drum unit assembly. Take out the jammed paper if there is any inside the drum unit. Put the toner cartridge into the drum unit until you hear it lock into place. If you put it in properly, the lock lever will lift automatically.
Caution
To avoid print quality problems, DO NOT touch the shaded part shown in the illustration. If you accidentaly touch the shaded part, wipe the surface with a dry lint-free soft cloth.
Put the drum unit assembly back in the printer.
Put the paper tray in the printer.
Close the front cover.
Good Luck and don't forget to leave a rating based on my solution:
What kind of paper is jamming? The paper could be too thin, or too thick.
Have any young children visited you recently? My neighbour's grandson thought the paper tray was a great place to hide his Oreo cookie and gummy bears. The crumbs on the roller made the paper wrap around inside. It was cheaper to buy a new printer than pay for a tear down. This happened to my neighbour over Christmas.
Check for spilled ink inside the cartridge area. If Ink has dripped down on the rollers, that would jam the paper. This would only be an issue if anyone moved the printer. Could your cleaning person have done this? It happend to me, once.
Have you checked the slider that adjusts for different paper sizes? It could be putting too much tension on the paper and throwing off the timing of the paper travelling through the printer, so the sheet is in the wrong place at the wrong time and jams up. Is it 8.5" x 11" photo grade inkjet paper or 4" x 6" photo paper? Before I print, I check that the paper type setting matches what is in the tray. If it is letter size premium photo paper, then I choose that paper in the printer settings. If it is premium letter size paper for documents then I choose that paper, so the printer can adjust itself to the paper.
Are you using recycled paper? My Kodak, HP, Epson, and Canon printers jam. Recycled paper really screws up my machines. I don't like it and can't use it.
Do you have too much paper in the tray? Try 5 or 10 sheets only in the tray to see if the amount of paper was the culprit.
Have you tried a different package or brand of paper?
One time a package of 500 sheets of HP inkjet wouldn't go through my KODAK , but worked fine in
the other printers. The next package of HP paper worked fine. How long has the paper been out of the package and sitting in the printer? Try fanning the paper.
Has the humidity in your area drastically changed in the past week? I have to keep the paper sealed in the original package. Inkjet paper out of the package is affected by humidity where I live. Winter heating causes out of package paper to collect static and stick to the rollers. Summer temperatures with high humidity causes out of package inkjet paper to absorb moisture from the room. This humid paper sticks together. Is the paper meant for a photo copier or laser printer/copier? I get lousy results with non-inkjet paper in every brand of injet printer I use.
Is it Brand name InkJet paper, like Kodak, XEROX, or HP? I stick to brand name inkjet and photo paper. Dollar store paper always jams in my printers.
For Document Printing I use either: Kodak's 24 lb Ultimate Inket Printer Brightness 98 paper, XEROX Premium Inkjet Brightness 98 24 lb, or HP 96 Brightness Premium Inkjet Printer 24 lb paper.
For Photo Printing I use Kodak's Ultra Premium Photo Paper, and adjust the printer's settings for it.

I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy
paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print
button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it
will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I
have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there
over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this
way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps.Bud
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by
holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the
paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling
out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do
this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any
obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or
ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the
printer back on.
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
see alternative if the problem is still not solved.
alternative :
Load
a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume
button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the
printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.
