DVD frozen While a DVD was playing, I pressed the DVD Menu button to go back to the main menu. However, instead, the DVD froze in position. I tried to stop the DVD, rewind, play, etc. but nothing worked. I even tried to eject it but it wouldn't work. Then I turned the system off, waited, then turned it back on, and the DVD display still was stuck at the same point, and still nothing works. After turning it off and on, however, there was also no display of the frozen moment in the DVD either.

Wow, it was so long ago when this happened.  I ended up calling BOSE and they told me what to do.  It's been so long I don't quite remember, but I think it might have been what suttonax suggested, which was to unplug the whole thing.  Or I think it might have been something much simpler.  I don't know.  Call BOSE!

Suggest unplug Bose system from the wall for 10 secs, then plug in and allow it to initialise.
if this fails take bose unit to dealer.

Subtitles always on

Hi - welcome to FixYa,

There are 2 methods for changing the subtitle settings on your DVD player.

Method 1.
To turn off the subtitles on your DVD player during playback:

1. Press the "SUBTITLE" button on your remote control
The subtitle button is just below the "0" (zero) numerical key on the remote control. It is marked "SUBTITLE" above the button and the button has "ABC" written inside a white rectangle on it.
2. Use the left "<" and right ">" arrow keys to change the subtitle setting
Each time you press an arrow key the subtitle language will change and eventually the language will read "OFF". The subtitles are now switched off during playback.

Method 2.
To turn disc subtitles off from the main menu:

1. Press the "MENU/LIST" button on your remote control (directly below "STOP")
The main menu will now appear
2. Press the down arrow key on your remote once to highlight "A" in the left hand column of the main menu
3. Press the right arrow key on your remote once to move to the right-hand column of the menu
4. Press the down arrow twice to highlight "Disc Subtitle"
5. Use the left and right arrow keys to change the subtitle options until your required choice is displayed
6. Once set, press the "MENU/LIST" button again to exit the menu.

This should solve your problem, but if you need any further assistance, please post back.

Regards,
BElectric

Dvd player wont play

I found this on the PROSCAN website under customer support manuals. The website is www.oncorpus.com.I hope this information helps you with your problem. IMPORTANT THE LABEL SIDE OF THE DVD MUST FACE THE BACK SIDE OF THE TELEVISION 1. Press the ‘INPUT’ button to select ‘DVD’ mode, if no disc is inserted yet, the display shows ‘No Disc’.
2.Insert a DVD with the printed side facing towards the rear of the TV/DVD Player (see below)
3.The TV will first display ‘Loading’, then change to ‘DVD-video’. Most DVDs will show some preliminary
information then stop at a main menu screen.
4. Press PLAY/PAUSE to play it directly. Or press the DVD-MENU button to access the disc menu during
playback.
5.Use the direction button on the remote control to select the desired option. Press ENTER to select the
option or press the ► button. Playback will now commence.
6.After playback, press the EJECT button on remote control or EJECT button on TV/DVD to remove the
disc.
Note: No function‘’ will sometimes appear on the screen after a button is pressed. This indicates that the
function is not supported at the current time.
