Question about Harman Kardon Creature II Computer Speakers

1 Answer

Compatible? I now have a third set of speakers. I returned the first two. I believe it's not the speakers thats the problem, I think it's the tv that im trying to hook them up to. the speakers work, its the volume control that doen't always work, I have found no pattern to this problem. it seams the volume works when it wants to. my tv: insigna, 20" tv/dvd combo IS-TVDVD20 I have tryed everything I can think of, I have been very patient, and precise on how I set everything up.

Have you tried sending out the signal from a TV to an amplifier then to the speakers? Can you give me a specific set-up on everything you are using, including cables?

I just bought these LS11. 2 speakers about a week ago. My HDMI output is plugged into my tv and was the source of sound for a while. Now that Im trying to plug these in, I can't get sound to come on for...

I'm confused - 1. I know that a speaker does not need drivers to operate - they just need an amplified audio signal to produce sound. 2. An HDMI output has a digital video and audio signal to transfer from a source like a computer or DVD player to a destination, like a TV set or an AV system. You might have a problem with your sound card in your computer. I think you're missing a AV component system in your set-up - like a physical receiver or AV hardware.

As an idea, I was thinking as I read your post, I thought that this would be an ideal application for a pair of "Wireless/Ired Headphones", you could plug these into the headphone socket, and then use these to hear your sounds, these units have a mute on board.
You could indeed wire it into, the unit going in through, the back of the, set. You could wire it up, but in reality, it would be better to use a third party device and that way would not compromise any warranty.

Vizio speakers make a buzzing noise

It's not the speakers. I usually hear of this problem when hooked up to an HD cable box. You can adjust the volume on the cable box and also on the TV. I'll bet you don't have this problem when watching a DVD.

If the problem is what I think it is, your HD Cable box is set at a really low volume while your TV is set to a rather high volume. Try setting the TV volume to around one-third, then set the volume on the cable box until it's as loud as you'd ever want to hear it. With the TV at such a high volume, you're actually amplifying any stray electronic signals that the wires might be picking up, and the above solution will fix that.

Good Luck.

No zone 2 sound coming from yamaha amp rx-v861

We had the same problem - I think it was reset when the power went off in a storm. Went to Yamaha website (http://www.yamaha.com/yec/faq/faqdetail.html?CNTID=206010&CTID=5009135) and found the following worked:

Assigning the receivers internal amp for Zone 2:
  1. Set the remote control [SIDE SELECTOR SWITCH] to [AMP]. (Located to the right of the volume buttons on the Remote).
  2. Press the [SET MENU] button on the remote control.
  3. Arrow down to Manual Setup and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  4. Arrow to the Sound Menu option and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  5. Arrow to Speaker Set and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  6. Arrow to the EXTRA SP ASSIGN and select ZONE2
  7. Press the [RETURN] button on the remote control to exit out and return to the Manual Setup.

Can I use my s750 speakers connect through A receiver?

I would actually suggest connecting the speakers up like that because the preamp that is used in the S750 is not very good even though the actual amps are good. I would also recommend using a different sub since it is very difficult to bypass the amp for the sub. Using a different amp could also provide more volume you would just have to make sure that you don't blow the speakers. I have a set of S750's but I have not been able to find anything to tell me the exact power handling that the speakers are capable of but I believe that they can handle a lot more than what the internal amplifier is putting out.

Colors overlap on left third of screen!

Yes it is convergence, but the first things to think about are. Did the set get bumped when you moved it? If so likely one of the guns is out of alignment physically due to jarring. However the other next best thing to look at, is if the set is near any type of magnetic object, mainly like a stereo speaker (larger ones) so if that is true, try moving it away slowly while the set is playing to see if it clears up. Lastly that the screnn itself is off or broken again a physical problem to resolve.
