Was quoted $100 just to open it up. So I opened it myself, then saw on this site that the lever can fall off. Now I need some help getting it back on correctly and getting the other pieces to go back in where they are supposed to. I tried the phone number to contact this site but it just kept ringing.

Are you fully opening the lock lever when you are putting the attachments on? If you are new to the machine, you need to fully open the locking lever on top, insert the attachment and be sure it "seats" in the shaft holder and then close the locking lever and be sure it is tight.
FixYa techs - thank you for your response but I solved the problems. It took me 2 hours of continual searching but I finally found the parts - listed under the tab sew machines of all things!? There is one pedal in stock and I called the service company and will pick that up and do it myself. I took that part off my vac and put it back on so know I can do it. I've been fixing stuff all my life and it just takes some logic - anyone can do it if they have a tool kit.
Ouch... You need new pedal assembly. Just Google 558401S . I saw one for $16.10. You can try to fix it just you would have to install it back at a certain angle. clean shaft very well with alcohol so it is completely grease free and use a drop of superglue. However this is not likely to hold for longer period of time.
I know the lever you're describing, but it's very hard to tell someone how to put it back on. There's nothing wrong with your transmission, by the way, this is a part that's meant to be moveable, and it just happened to slip off in your case.
