Leaky dishwasher after repair

A pot lid shattered in my dishwasher, causing glass to get caught in the pump filter housing and pump base. After researching on here and several other sites, I was able to disassemble the lower wash arm and impeller to remove all the glass pieces. I reassembled all the pieces as they were, and the wash cycle ran without any abnormal noises. Once the water began to drain, water poured from the inside bottom of the door. I checked to ensure the seal (#7 in the diagram on the link below) was intact, however found no visible problems. Any assistance or insight on what might have caused this problem would be greatly appreciated. Actually, I believe I have fixed the problem. I did not reattach the panel and toe panel during the drain cycle (to ensure no leaks under the dishwasher). After reattaching those and running through rinse and drain cycles, there were no leaks.

newbury, the screen should set in the grooves on the bottom. The chopper blade that fits on the shaft should have a small hub that fits over it. If you look on the housing cover (inlet protector) you will see a channel that slides over the end of the chopper blade shaft. This secures the chopper in place. Catriver.

SOURCE: Wash Arms not spinning --Dishes not clean

Without the model number of your Maytag number, I can not determine if when you order a wash pump motor you also get the impeller.
Sounds like you are on the right path to getting your dishwasher to wash dishes again.
Oh, while you have the dishwasher open, check that the heating element has not failed using a Multimeter.

Good Luck!

SOURCE: Motor just hums during the wash cycle. Put it in

OK, that piece of glass may have jammed the wash impeller. this will destroy the motor windings. you will need to gain access to the circulation motor asap.the impeller is attached to the motor that is housed within the pump casing(upper). try to manually move the impeller. if its stuck, try ot remove the obstruction.

It is possible that, the motor is already damaged to the point of no return. in this case, replace the circulation motor. your drain pump should be ran by a totally separate motor(wax).

**NOTE

Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.

Ds603 flood switch has been activated

The flood switch is at base of dishwasher housing under the drawer. Water leakage has occured to trigger this. Turn power off to dishwasher and take the power chord out. Pull the drawer out and use towels and hair dryer to dry the base. Put drawer back in and reconnect. Should work. Need to find the cause of leak. Either damaged lid seal or leaky hoses. Sometimes too much foam in detergent can cause it. Use recommended detergent and appropriate quantity per user manual.

I have a Rival crock pot and I dropped the lid and it shattered. Where can a buy a new lid and what is the cost. It is a basic white rival crock pot with the insert that can be taken out and washed.

check the thrift store (goodwill, Etc). Measure the diameter that the lid should be to fit the pot and perhaps a glass lid from another appliance will work. Or, even a metal pot or pan lid (better than nothing)

The lid on my Salton MJ6SCOSS Slow Cooker shattered

Take it back to the shop you bought it from with the packaging if you still have it, and the receipt which you will need. If you don't have the receipt anymore try contacting the manufacturer, they will be able to determine if it is still in warranty from its serial number.

It could be vibration inside the dishwasher rather than heat that caused it to break though I would say it happened while cooking when you return it in case they try and make out that is isnt dishwasher proof

Dishwasher does not fill with water

It sounds to me like the base safety float has been activated. This will cause the unit to cancel the program it is in and activate the drain pump, hence the "run" that you hear, but no water. You need to remove the lid and two side panels. If you see water inside the base, you know that the safety float switch has been activated. Remove plug from outlet and empty water from base (by tilting to left side and using sponge to syphon water) Restart unit and check where water is leaking from. Usually from a filling hose not correctly/tightly fitted; leaky inlet valve; leaky heater asembly. Hope this helps! C.
