Alphabetical listing... I have had my ilo mp3 for about 2 months now everything works great. The only thing that's irritating is the songs end up in alphabetical listing instead of the order I downloaded and synched them. Is there anyway to fix this?

You can rename the files in numerical order, like 001, 002, etc; unfortunately, this option is not otherwise fixable - it's just a limitation of the player

My problem

The Windows Media Player 11 issue is sporadic - it often takes hold after you have updated Windows Media Player with a "Hotfix" - Microsoft has been issuing them at least monthly for the past 6 months with their Windows Updates. So it makes sense that your player was working fine one day and not the next. This is definitely NOT an electrical problem.

Erases Everything: Connect your iLo player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "iLO 2GB player" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything, and the player should work normally after reloading the songs.

It turns off

1) Disconnect from computer, turn it off, hold in volume + button and reconnect it to your computer - continue holding volume + until the Found Hardware Wizard comes up.

2)

A iLo Mp3 player

When you plug your ilo mp3 player into your computer with the USB cord, double-click on the My Computer icon. When the window opens, the list of drives should come up. Your ilo mo3 player should come up as Remveable Hard Drive (or Drive G) Click on it. When the window pulls up, your list of songs should come up. Find the song you want to delete and right click on it. Then find the delete button and click on it. When the computer ask you if you want to delet the song, click yes. When you turn on your mp3 player, the song you deleted shouldn't be on your mp3 player.

My iLO MP3 wont download anymore

There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

Mp3 player won't play

your ILO has somehow lost its file structure. look for a tiny pinhole to reset the device. if none, then remove batteries to attempt reset. if still no songs, then firmware upgrade if possible or copy file structure (using windows) from a friend's ILO.

Song Names show up incorrectly on ILO Mp3 player. Wrong format?

The funny~.mp3 names are usually because the title field is not filled in in the mp3 property tags, so it uses the DOS version of the filename for the title. Under windows, right click the song and select properties->summary->advanced, and make sure that the title field under "description" has what you want in it. I don't think even the makers of Ilo know how it organizes the files.
