Question about Sony Grand WEGA KF60XBR800 60" Rear Projection Television
Part of my Sony KF-60XBR800 screen looks like it's torn or missing. But it's not on the outside, it's dead black, and it's almost 1/3 of the screen. I'm not too savvy on internal components, but could this be because of a broken mirror or screen? The exterior of the TV is completely fine, no exterior physical damage. It literally looks like that part of the interior of the screen is missing. I do have a picture available.
The screen is 2 screens pressed together... im never seen this problem unless u had an earthquake. its possible the inner screen seperated and fell...in that case you should wear gloves to take both screens out and line them up and tape just around the ouside of them. you need to get the front screen off and see whats blocking the picture. good luck

most likey ...if the mirror boke you have to replace it ....if you want to get by cheap align as close as posible to existing mirror and glue with like epoxy or silicone or strong glue be careful not to get glue on the outside of mirror
at most if done careful you might notice a slight line in picture. also before you do this put it in place trially about 5 times and keep it an even plane.
while glueing you must hold it it a long time.
good luck

Don't mind the screen blur, it's the camera.
I found out what it is.
I pulled it open this morning, and a huge piece of glass that's in there at an angle is broken. What part would that be - the mirror?
I found out it's called a first surface mirror.
