Question about Microtek ScanMaker 9800XL Flatbed Scanner

"Scanner not found" message

Tried to use the scanner and am unable to do so. Have no idea why the computer cannot find the scanner. Machine starts up fine and seems ready to go. I removed the scanner from the hardware list, uninstalled it and then re-installed it to no avail.

    am on a mc with 10.5 operating system. downloaded the latest driver from microtek and tried connecting via usb and firewire. the scanner is still not recognized by the computer.

I have found a support site for your scanner that may be of some help... Please check your ports are compatible.. as far as speed and type. Have you installed the MOST up to date drivers etc? Check all cables etc. support.microtek.com/product_dtl_2.phtml?prod_id=22

Unable to scan on HP Laserjet 3055 on Windows XP


Sounds like a software issue - U might try contacting HP but do not hold your breath. If machine is out of warranty they want nothing to do with you and will refer you to some forum or whatever. Or they might tell you to get a new scanner compatible with a newer OS.

the light may have gone, change the buls, also have you got your installation cd you may need that just in case it is not found you have to reinstall

Kyocera 5035 prints only when restarted!


I had the same problem. I would turn the machine off/on and it would work for another 5min. I tried everything I could. I swapped with another machine and it still screwed up, so I knew it had to be the card.
I wound up buying a used card from Greater Phildelphia.
They sell from machines that come off lease. 215-788-7111

Error message


Hi toolpusher

Try going to CanoScan Toolbox > Settings and reset the 'defaults' button at bottom... this will restore factory settings and hopefully fix your problem... The other error message you can expect to get is "unable to scan - insufficent memory, check your **** space' (or something similar)... same fix works for both! ...Have had both messages on mine, sounds like a semi-regular conflict on some sort, but seems to be easily fixed. Good luck :-)

Backup unable to communicate with computer


Plz check your computer without ups.If it is runing there.And wattage of ups .It seem over load or shortage of ups.Check power cable.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back as requested, how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Scanner has stopped working


When I had the cable that came with the printer connected to the scanner, and the cable that came with the scanner connected to the printer, the scanner didn't work.

Changing the cables changed everything.
