Question about Mitsubishi VS-50501 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

I have a Mitsubishi VS-60.. With a Picture

I have Mitsubishi 60" inch (4'3) TV that is about 7 years old. It was working great until I turned it on this morning and found that I have the bottom half of the picture perfect, but the top half is mostly gone but the very top is in the middle of the screen on top of the bottom half. (In other words, it looks like the top 10% to 50% of the picture has been cut out and the very top pieced to the bottom. Color is fine. It is on all inputs for the TV. Really looking to see what the suggested solution is and if it is worth repair.

Tv problemsMitsubishi VS-60705 60 in....

My Mitsubishi Model VS-60705 did the same thing a couple of years ago...A TV repair facility replaced the Video card. Any repair facility facility that works on rear-projection TV's should be able to repair your set.

Tv lost color

Your problem most likely is on the signal board is my guess. If your not a technician it would be in your best interest to have him check L2C60 on the signal board.

TV has sound but no picture

Everything is worth fixing provided the price is right.  However, in this case it's probably not cost effective to repair the unit.  Start with the easier fixes, such as bulbs, etc.  Even then, some of the components can be quite expensive, or simply unavailable.  I would suggest getting a quote from a local repair shop in order to make an informed decision before you get to far into it.  You could end up spending just as much to repair it as you would on a new unit.

Mitsubishi vs 60719 - Wavy bow in picture

Either a bad solder connection on your convergence module or a bad convergence IC. Repair costs will probably be in the $350-$500 range.

Mitsubishi VS-5041 50 Inch Rear Prorjection TV No image but there is sound!

After 11 years???? OMG This set is a tired pup and should be put to reast. My experience with older sets and your complains are all capacitor problems and is only gonna get worse as the first time around repair will take several capacitors to repair. This set has no user serviceable parts inside so you should not attempt a repair suchj as this on your own.. This repair if you decide to go through the first time will be About 300 to 600 bucks the first time and cost will continue to raise till the sets put to sleep. Good luck
