I have an Avaya 18D that I was programming speed dial number into. When I finished I noticed I was unable to make phone calls. When I place a call the receiver does not give me dial tone or ringing, just a beeping noise. Thanks

Re: Avaya 18D unable to make outgoing calls
Sounds like you changed your line selection. Changing line selection on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11. At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00" Next press the left hand intercom twice The display should say system programming
Press the right hand intercom once. The display should say Centralized Programming.
Enter in the extension number that you want to program.
enter ** press the lit line in the order you want the to be used, i.e. line 2 then line 3 then line 4 etc. enter ** when finished with line selection . Press feature "00" to logout Hope that helps

Yes. Call forwarding is a feature provided by your telephone company, not a feature of any phone, and the procedure is dependent on the company. For some telephone companies, for example, you forward a call by dialing *72, waiting for a second dial tone, then dial the number to which you want calls forwarded. Please contact your telephone company for their exact procedure.
Activation is easy, programming not so much. It's F11. There are about 10 conditions that have to be met, like the number has to be in peronal speed dial and call coverage needs to be on for outside lines to forward.
If your changing the speed dial numbers under the individual buttons thats done by pressing feature 00, the button you want to change the speed dial number on, and enter in the new number.
If your changing the system wide speed dial numbers, From extension 10 enter in feature 00, press feature then the 3 digit code for the speed dial bank (600-699), then enter in the new telephone number. Either press feature and the next 3 digit code for the next number or press feature 00 if finished.
Press Feature 00 Press LEFT intercom, LEFT intercom Press right intercom. Display will ask for an extension number. Enter the extension number you want to modify. Now it should say "program ExtXX" Press * * (STAR STAR) then touch the lines in the order you want to pick them up, when finished entering the order.... PRESS * * (STAR STAR) Then Press Feature 00 to exit programming.
Once you are in a programming mode and need to Remove press second row 4th buton from right to left.
This is an overlay
Second Row from right to left: Next Procedure, Next Item, Next Data, Remove
Third Row from right to left: Prev Procedure, Prev Item, Prev Data, Enter.
From extension 10 or 11 Press feature 00 LEFT INTERCOM LEFT INTERCOM RIGHT INTERCOM Enter the extension number of the extension you need changed. press ** (start, star) then the order you want the lines to get picked up (if you want to grab line 4 then 3 then 2 then 1, upon going offhook, press "** line 4 line 3 line 2 line 1) Then ** (star, star) when done
When finished, press feature 00 to get out of programming.
