I have recently bought this DWL-G630 adpater card for my IBM Thinkpad T41 running on WinXP. The problem started almost immediately after installing the config tool & plugging in the card - it becomes active & inactive frequently, that is when I ping the router, it shows "request timed out" continuously and then again seems to wake up and starts communicating. I am flummoxed !! this never happens with the inbuilt Intel 802.11a/b card. I bought this one so that I can enjoy a bit of 802.11g speed i.e 54mbps. But now, I almost cannot use it because of this strange phenomenon. Any clues / tricks that can permanently keep this card awakened, will have my full appreciation and Kudos. Thanks Santanu
Hi I think this maybe caused by XP's WiFi service, it needs to be disabled, I have a link for you to follow for a hopeful fix... http://paininthetech.com/2005/10/25/disable-wireless-zero-configuration-in-windows-xp/
