Most shops I know are crooked and make up stuff to squeez the most outta ya usually about half what the set costs. so are car mechanics. best thing to do is ask around for trusted repair shop .....word of mouth rules. any tech with half a brain can come to your house point to the parts within 1 minute...and should just charge a house call. good luck

My samsung LN40B530 control issues, switches back and forth from source to source no volume then weak or no signal, mother board issues?

Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Try a reset too. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given.

You can also try a hard reset: Unplug TV from AC mains and remove all cables from TV. Wait about 30 minutes and replug to AC power and redo the cabling. Switch on the TV and see if it works..

This could be due audio amplifier problems in the tv , If you would like to attempt a DIY, you will need a service manual to guide you. You can find one here:
http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

However, be aware that there are voltages inside your TV set that can kill, even if unplugged. Or you can contact company service center if within warranty ,else you give it local service center...

Good luck....

46RV535U 46 in. HDTV LCD TV where is the fuse

There are several fuses on the power supply board.

Usually the one that fails is not the main AC line fuse (which is close to the AC line input), but the PFC fuse located, you guessed it, next to the PFC regulator IC on the board.

When the PFC fuse is blown (measuring open) you also need to replace the PFC IC and possibly other components on the board. Most of the time the PFC is sufficient though.

Here's a link for repair service for the board:
http://www.coppelltvrepair.com/p/751/toshiba-46rv535u-power-supply-board-repair-service-for-dead-refusing-to-power-tv-or-faint-display-problem

Also search there for the TV model, we may have repair kits or exchange services available!

Hope this helps!

This happens due to the faulty memory IC at the circuit board. Replacing it will solve the problem. It is an 8 solder terminal IC, can be located very near to the main system control IC. Will look like this.

First, understand the dangers of high voltage and charged capacitors inside a TV set! Discharge all capacitors and the picture tube in a safe way before proceeding.

What kind of IC is it?
If SurfaceMounteD:
1. Heat the IC pins and use a solder wick to remove ALL solder tin.
2. Use a sharp screwdriver or a knife to gently lift the IC from the PCB. Pay close attention if any of the pins is still attached to the PCB, if so, repeat step 1. Be careful, if you break the PCB, the Sony is ready for the dumpster...
3. Put the new IC in place, begin to solder pin 1, and then the pin most far away from pin 1.
4. Solder the rest of the pins, as quick as possible to not overheat the IC. Don't care if solder short circuit the pins.
5. Use a solder wick to remove all eventual short circuits that was the result of 4.
6. Inspect one more time to be 100% sure no short circuits remain.
7. finished.

If mounted through holes:
Same as above, with following additions:
1. a possible addition of a solder sucker.
4. The speed is still important, but since the pins are not so close, you should be able to do it without shorting.

HC-P4752W - IC Replacement vs Convergence Module.

The colors weren't lining up correctly on my HC-P4752W which is only about 30 months old. I did a little bit of research and got ahold of the people at http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/ They recommended replacing the IC's as well as the IC resistors. I purchased the replacement parts from their site and made the repairs myself. I should mention that I didn't have any previous soldering experience. The repair was easy and a complete success. You may find replacement parts elsewhere for slightly cheaper but what you won't find is the prompt and detailed customer service that they provide. They gave me there # and said to call if I had any questions before or during repair. I took advantage of their services and got answers every time I called.
